So many slow backwards passes.

Spence at LB is killing me now, just constantly looking to play it back to a CB, safe

same with Bentancur, Xavi, first instinct is to go backwards, I hate it so so much.

Agreed
But he rested too many with Romero unavailable, I believe.
He knows the condition of the players better than we do.

And when he got the big players on we salvaged the point.

The disallowed goal was also weak as you see holding like that every game.

I think other teams will struggle on that pitch in that climate, it's a decent point.

But I think we agree on that

Blokes a complete fraud. Just not an elite forward.
We gave them far too much respect. Had we gone at them from minute one but to come from 2 goals down to draw there is fine.
More than we give our own players sometimes!!

Just got home, on paper doesn't seem like a bad result?

How did we actually play?
Fucking hell. ... how fast are the flights from Norway....? Did you have to miss the entire game in order to get back from the airport, and THAT'S why you had to ask ...?

Good result considering the sh!t show.
One day, they'll start deducting points for bad performances that get positive results.... THEN we'll be sorry!

Take it....
We're still evolving as a team, and yet STILL getting (away with) wins/draws along the way while we're learning....

This season could look very different ALREADY.... 0-2 down at Brighton, and tonight, a goal down until the 94th minute against Wolves, and we didn't lose ONE of them!
Had we lost a couple of those, we'd blame Thomas Frank's historical 'poor starts with new clubs' as a mitigating factor....

But while everyone is still getting used to eachother, we're STILL pulling out positive results from nowhere....
That has to count for summit, surely?

Just Wait til we click....!

That’s why Spence’s future is as a proper RB, or a defensive specialist LB. He’s not going to be able to be an outside LB, and we absolutely need it for attacking balance reasons.

Can't help but chuckle as Hoddle and TNT say we would have lost that game last year.

Erm... no. Played the same team 4 months ago twice and thumped them twice :ange-blow:

it’s still early doors and it’s a comeback pint away from home.
The squad is lacking in many areas. My god but I want Richie to succeed but he is just a passenger most games.
Perhaps playing with no striker might at least get us the use of another player.
But then you have Johnson as well another passenger.
Hard to win games with 9 men.

We lost 22 games last year. People need to stop with the fool fool. Look back further to when we were a proper team under Pochettino. But also recall he took the better part of 8 months to get us controlling the ball and defensively solid. There was lots of Fazio, Mason, Chadli, Bentaleb, Adebayor to begin with.
Thing is as well ask any of the people complaining about the admittedly risk-averse, stodgy (dare I say shit) football in these early games of Frank's tenure but if you ask those same people which area of the squad is the strongest as of right now, it will unanimously be defence. The guy has been trying to build a cohesive attack with Richy and Tel as his fit options as his attacking fulcrum.

I can't lie, I wish he was a bit less risk-averse in his personnel selections, I am sick of watching Bentancur still get minutes while Gray has barely seen the pitch so far this season, Richy is so obviously cooked (despite scoring a goal he knew fucking nothing about tonight), either he literally only has 90 mins to give in the tank before he's fatigued beyond usefulness again or that Burnley game was just an outlier, and he really is just so so shit, I don't understand how he can turn it on and look like a £60m player in the odd game for us but even when not getting laid off by injury he just seems absolutely fucked after a match or 2.
We've paid the money for Tel now, he might well be shit long term but at least we could try and get some consistent minutes into him until RKM becomes available and see if we can't spur a Kane-like transformation, I don't see how it could be any worse than Richy offering absolutely fucking nothing, if nothing else Tel could be a nuisance for defenders by getting about and being difficult to mark, something which asked of Richy would probably cause his hammies to explode into flame.

I like big Danso but he should never be allowed on an astro turf pitch again. Could quite possibly be the worst I’ve ever seen on the ball tonight. How he thought running with the ball was a good idea I’ll never know.
I like him too. But he is a defender. Hes not a ball playing defender. Very very solid with the basics of defending his box and alike but a significant drop off in quality when it comes to the more technical side of the game. Showed his flaws tonight, all players have them so not a critique, more of an observation.

This. We finished 17th in the EPL one point above relegation. Then we lost Maddison, Sonny. We are further ahead than we should be. Expectations need to be adjusted. BUT Frank needs to be more ruthless and more honest about how much we need to improve him included.
I think you meant to say one place above relegation, no? We actually finished 13 points above Leicester in 18th.

Not saying that's in anyway good, but we were never in any danger of going down.

And at least we could beat Bodø bloody Glimt!
