Match SPURS v SOUTHAMPTON midweek, Wednsday (is it?) 6'ish

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I haven’t looked forward to a line up announcement this much in ages!

I haven’t looked forward to a game in ages. We may lose but I’d at least like to see us use the midfield which hasn’t happened in ages. I’d like us to pass and not just hoof the ball to Kane and I’d like us to show some balls both in tactics and application which again hasn’t happened for ages.

It will be interesting to see how much of an impact Mason has been able to make in two days of training.

Will the players now be able to run? Will they be able to control the ball and make 5 yard passes now they are not living in fear of Jose?

TUNE IN TO FIND OUT

I am not expecting our squad to suddenly remember how to attack in a systematic and drilled way, after all these months, but I am sure we will see a great attitude

I never miss a game, and I am so enjoying this feel of looking forward to it after months of desensitisation

COYS!!!

All these lineups with shit players from yesteryear.

Can't beat this team

I reckon:

Lloris
Aurier Toby Rodon Reguilon
Hojberg
Ndombele Lo Celso
Bale Son Lucas
I think the defence pretty much picks itself since the other CBs are shit and we have no decent RB alternative.
I have a feeling we will finally see the midfield 3 we have waited for all season - in the correct positions. In the training video you can hear Mason talking about focusing on possession and how they would build so it makes sense to have Ndombele and Gio in there - Winks could even make a surprise return.

I think the front 3 is where a surprise is more likely. Bale and Son nailed on but the third place is anyone's guess between Lucas, Dele, Bergjwin and Lamela.

I would go with

Lloris
Aurier Toby Rodon Reguilon
Hojbjerg GLC
Bergwijn Dele Son
Bale

Bring on Lucas, Lamela.

Need to give these players some minutes in preparation for the final.

Predict Ryan will go with

Lloris
Tanganga Rodon Toby Reguilon
Hojbjerg Winks
Bergwijn Lucas Son
Bale

Interested to see what Mason puts out there. He's only been with the first team for 2 days, so I'm not expecting miracles. He's also got a cup final on Sunday to think about in terms of rotation, and Kane is not starting today regardless.

Hopefully something resembling attacking intent is all I can ask for.

Wouldn't be shocked if Mason is just going to have them attack similar to how Poch did because most of the squad knows those patterns already. Could see a Davies start on the left because of that (and also rotation for the cup final). Also why I think Dele, Lucas and Lamela may start as well rather than Bale, Bergwijn, and Vinny.

Aurier-Toby-Rodon-Davies
Hojbjerg-Ndombele
Lamela-Dele-Lucas
Son

That front 4 is capable of pressing the shit out of Soton. It also rests some of the big game players for Sunday.

Who knows!

I have a meeting with my BJJ club that starts 30 minutes into the game. So if you guys that are going to protest against Levy can delay the game by about 2 hours or so that would be grand.

If not I'll catch it on the repeat. No way am I not watching Ryan's first game in charge.

It's nice to have this "I don't know what will happen, but I am so looking forward to it"! Feeling

I wouldn't be surprised to see Dele starting either
