Match Spurs Vs Liverpool - Carabao Cup Semi Final 1st Leg. 8pm, Weds 8th Jan.

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

That team ain’t beating them. It’s a bottom third of the league side at best. We’ve fallen so far.
We're where we are, because of injuries.
Liverpool are clear at the top of PL table and top of the CL table (played 6 won 6). They've played 27 games in all competitions this season, winning 23 and drawing 3. They also have hardly any injuries. Even if Spurs had no injuries, this would be a tough game. If we can somehow manage to win, draw or even lose by the odd goal, we might have a chance in the 2nd leg because it's not until early February when hopefully we will have players back from injury.

I understand wanting to thicken up the MF a bit and play on the break, but if we have to start that same back 5 that finished v NC we need a degree of possession. We can't just have them exposed to wave after wave of attack.

Reminder:
3rd choice GK
Porro
// back-up RB // 18 y.o CM // 4th-choice LB

No calming needed. I am just curious if you think that a defensive approach will be adopted. No offence taken either. It’s the internet so you know..
I think Bentancur Bergval and Kulusevski all have to start so the decision is between Bissouma and Brennan. With Bissouma only getting 30 mins at the weekend, I'd say there is a good chance he starts with Kulu moved tot he wing. So yes I think we could see a more defensive formation in this game.

I guess some of it will depend on player recovery. And of of course no others going down with the bug or whatever it is. Kulusevski was off it yesterday but can’t really judge any performances on that game with injuries and illness taken into account.

I’d suggest they will have more possession which might look like a more pragmatic approach but in reality will be just that we can’t get the ball.

Presume Kinsky can and will play?

bit of a baptism of fire? but sure we brought him in early he may as well get the next two cup games.

I don’t really mind what we do with this one, they’re streets ahead of us right now so they’ll smash us over two legs. The main thing I’m concerned about is that we don’t pick up any more injuries.

This game has to be last chance saloon for Ange now.

Not because we are better than them or should be beating them but because this will show us if Ange can adapt. They scored 6 past us only a couple of weeks ago. Every man and his dog can see the suicide high line has to be dropped deeper and we need to pick them off on the counter. Please please please Ange learn your lesson, I know too many Pool fans to be destroyed by these lot twice in 2 weeks

United who are possibly even worse than us with a manager that's apparently a fraud have just drawn at anfield

Surely no excuses will be made if we are tonked in our own backyard again , right ? Right ?

:memelol:
