Insanely disappointed but not surprised to see that the punditry is all about how bergvall should have been sent of apparently? I didn’t see the game but really doesn’t matter considering the joke handball they got in the UCL final, they can never complain again.

I thought the Newcastle goal should have stood at the weekend given the injustices we’ve suffered in the past and how I think tje game should be played. But really shitty of Sky/TNT to dismiss our win by focusing on the Bergvall fouls instead of the wind while literally saying while laughing “I don’t think the goal should have stood but that’s football” at the weekend.

And some on here complain about how he handles the press. These cunts after the game are always trying to get a rise out of him, Matterface prime example attempting to entrap Ange into complaining directly about the ref last match.
I'd like to see anyone remain super calm after awful shit gone against you in the match, and field dickhead questions immediately afterwards. Ange handles them brilliantly I think, gives them the respect they deserve.

Need more of this if he is staying, cut the nice guy bullshit all the time. Start pointing out the bullshit refereeing inconsistencies, throw a ref or 2 under the bus every now and again when they make bullshit decisions. We get completely mugged off on yellows every game, I think Ange had this misguided idea that by being the only gentleman in the league we would get a fairer share of decisions as refs would be predisposed to support a manager who supports them; the reality is opposite, we get a shit wave of the wand on decisions because refs know they'll get less stick pulling for the other team. Us getting early yellows and opposition getting away with 2-3 cynical fouls per booking is a big reason we've been in the shit this season IMO, how often have we had a fullback or Bissouma on an early yellow having to watch their tackles when they're being asked routinely during a game to bomb back and put in a risky challenge?

What pisses me off is this new breed of 'chippy' rat so-called journo...... These shit stirring pussy's wouldn't have dared pull this shit on the likes of Fergie & Clough.

This started becoming a thing at the end of Fergie's time as a manager, remember when they forced him to start interviewing the BBC again? Felt like there was a massive cultural shift at that point where prior, elite stalwarts of the game like Fergie really dictated the narrative in the press, now the press dictate the narrative to the managers IMO. Even Pep atm probably the most elite coach of the past 2 generations is being made to look a twat in the press over their recent dip in form. No one is safe from it, any team that you get even a sniff of doing poorly the press circle like fucking piranhas nowadays. Been hearing much more about how Arteta has turned Woolwich into Deportivo Bolton in recent weeks, don't doubt Slot will be painted as a buffoon without a fucking clue if they have 1 or 2 more dodgy results in the weeks to come.

Agree but not even that they wouldn't have dared , fascinating listening to journos (football and otherwise) in the 70s. They just had conversation skills. Much more interesting.

Same for the managers/players though.

Crazy Liverpool fans and media are trying to take his comments about Bergvall out of context, he said the rule is dumb and it's hurt us (the Fulham game I think?) previously. Didn't even mention the fact that Bergvall shouldn't have been on a yellow in the first place, his interview was great. Fuck 'em all
 
The team worked hard and smart for the most part, a few blokes up front lack some venom which releases the pressure way too easily, silly fouls, performative effort that achieves nothing and the right side is a bit of a smorgasbord for the opposition, wins against quality teams like that are sweet whichever way they come though 👌
 
I feel like ordinarily the tone of the conversation would be. "Yeah, should've probably got booked for that tackle... But the first one absolutely wasn't a booking so it's evened out".

Opposition fans you expect this kind of crying, but I've rarely seen a melt down like this from pundits or journalists. It's so bizarre that it's almost creepy. A collective hysteria over not much.
