Hope you're feeling better now?

I'll put it down to the illness, but I'm not sure your focus is in the right area where Kinsky is concerned...

Thank you, my man.

Fever down to low 38s today, breathing a little easier too. Docs reckon it's a combo of ear infection and the flu. Couple days and I'll be bouncing again.

Lovely feeling today. We don't have to worry about a 2nd leg for 4 weeks and we are still in the tie even if Anfield is usually daunting as fuck.

Lovely bit of 3rd round FA Cup romance this weekend and onto the NLD.

Things starting to look up

In the cold light of day after last night's high ,thinking it all through .

When all things considered , players available to both teams ( especially the strength of the benches ) that really was a fabulous performance and wonderful result . Fair play to everyone involved .

Hopefully a sign we can now kick on

When they can bring on Diaz, Nunez, Trent and Konate off the bench and we have Timo Werner... I mean that's just a staggering differential.

Now on top of that when you consider we are starting a debut 21 year old Keeper whose been at the club 48 hours; 18 year old Gray at CB; 19 year old Bergvall; Djed Spence out of position...

And then add that we lose Bentancur early with a distressing and scary injury...

And relative form of both teams...

I stand by what I felt last night - it's the greatest backs to the wall, underdog result I can remember in my time at Spurs (which really starts when I moved to the UK in 1999). The atmosphere of the crowd reflected that I think.

It was wonderful to be there for it.

It’s never been the right approach
VAR is a great tool, it's just controlled by utter morons. Corrupt ones too.

It was brought into the game to give smaller clubs and their fans the illusion that something was gonna be done about big clubs getting more decisions, but it's changed nothing cause the powers that be found a backdoor.

That 'clear & obvious' notion, those micro millimeters offside, those things VAR ain't authorized to look at...it's a joke. But weirdly, other sports use it just fine.

Re Bergvall last night - if refs & VAR knew how to do their job and were honest, they'd have given Diaz a yellow for diving and trying to get our kid booked. But no, not part of the remit. At least they atoned for it by not sending the lad off for that yellow card tackle on their ugly LB. But should never be a case of making up for it. Knowing that now Spurs gonna pay for it in future games.

Diaz should have been sent off. He punch Porro in the head and then minutes later dived to try and get a pen. They were two yellows yet he got nothing. During the match their players were doing so many little fouls yet the ref didn’t clamp down on it. They did it in the league game too. That’s what Ange should have fought back with in the post match press conference.

I totally agree with Ange's view re VAR in football. I'd get rid of it except for goal line decisions. Perhaps fully automated offside is worth trying.

On the Bergvall incident ... Ange's view is debateable. A counter view is that Bergvall's tackle merited a yellow as it was dangerous play. Advantage was the right decision, but Ange stating it is only "cynical" fouls that are punished is not relevant and is not the language used in the laws of the game. I think we got lucky on that one but, as others have said, unluckly in his first yellow. And Liverpool got fewer cards than they deserved also.

A game such as last night has such an impact as a supporter. I've felt close to nadir levels of late, but to see such an impressive yet pragmatic performance, along with two standout 18 year olds, Spence (away from his favourite side) absolutely dominating the best in the league and a new keeper that actually bred confidence into a makeshift back 4 and seems set to completely alter the way we are able to play, well I can't help but feel positive again. I'm sure the club will find a way to spoil my dinner in the future, but today is a good day, and it's always a joy to savour the good days.

The goal-line tech is great, need to keep it but also use it for throw ins and corners/goal kicks. And yeah it's 2025, we should already have fully automated offsides.

Keep them linesmen in the job, but redefine their role eg their focus is now on watching them shenanigans that happen in the box on every single set piece. I don't wanna see 10 pens a game, but come on...some of the shit that goes unnoticed and unpunished is ridiculous. VAR should defo play a big part in that too...they have cameras on every player, zero friggin excuse. Maybe some of the clear fouls on Vicario would get spotted?...

Just need to put the laws of the game and the tech between the hands of people who have a clue...and who aren't rotten. Looking at you, Howard Webb.

I haven't seen anyone mention DickVanDick's stamp and scrape on the back of Dom'sleg in any of the media outlets so far.

I only saw it a couple of times in slo-mo, but it looked like a cast-iron red for me. Did it get explained?

Was it a restorative stroke? Some pro-tip medical move to increase blood flow to the calf? Something like that? No? Because it looked like a fucking psychotic challenge that could have snapped his Achilles.

EDIT: I just looked and he didn't even get a fucking yellow for it! No fucking way! That's bullshit.

Not once did Redknapp or that lass mention what Diaz did talk about agenda driven.

AP has only repeated what he's been told for the last 2 months by PGMOL. As such is the case, his view isn't debatable at all, and cynical fouls are completely relevant.

Considering the fact that we've been on the receiving end of these calls repeatedly, we were not lucky in the slightest.
