About the only thing he got wrong is that I heard a fan interview with Madueke some months after he joined PSV and Noni was very clear - he could not see a route to first team so followed Sancho and others abroad where he quickly joined PSV first team.

If you recall Noni left when Poch had this idea of 'no youth loans' and train with first team but less than a handful of youngsters over 6 years got more than a couple of appearances. Definitely the right choice by Madueke. And a lesson to learn for Spurs

Spurs need to stay with a strategy of giving youngsters the first team exposure they show they are capable of handling - as well as buying good players - and we do have a lot of youngsters, both out on loan (Devine, Vuskovic, Donley, Abbott, Keeley, Phillips, Dorrington, Lankshear) or coming through such as LWB or playing with first team currently (Moore, Scarlett) all of whom could make the preseason squad on merit. So could be an interesting next couple of years seeing who joins the first team squad
