All you seem to be capable of is taking cheap shots and abusing other forum members you disagree with. It`s a forum where people give their honest opinions. Your a fucking idiot. And thats my honest opinion
If you wrote 'you're a fucking idiot' I would be seriously wounded. But the fact that you missed the contraction makes me think that your views accurately represent your mental age. You may be old, but you're a stupid cunt so quiet down old man.

Me and Honest John Honest John agreeing with each other ...:paulinhowtf:

I need a shower :pochwtf:

I like his summary: 'when he wants to play he's extremely effective'
What are you saying Ray, that for the majority of his time here he's only wanted to play for 2 managers and the rest of the time been content to not bother whilst picking up huge wages?
Ssssshhhhhhh. He'll hear you!

We can lose home and away to Woolwich, Chelsea, Manchester both and Liverpool and still win the league if we win all the other games. It is a league, you beat your rivals to the top positions by performing better than them across the whole season, very rarely by winning head to head encounters with them. So while Stoke and Palace aren't our rivals they are the sort of games we need to do better than our rivals in.

Someone PM Levy and tell him to get it done...

Anyone who sees Stoke and Palace as more of our rivals than Utd is a laughable knob

Funny that we are not Utds rivals cos they "spent 300M" (errr no they didnt), yet I dont see Stoke with a 30M winger and 26M striker..

But it's not a skill unique to strikers. There are keepers who've been designated penalty takers. Heck, for the Chelsea game, why didn't Harry take the penalty? It doesn't have to be the striker's job. Hence, it's not relevant to evaluating them when you're trying to find the best guy for scoring from open play.

We're looking for strikers. We don't need a guy good at penalties, we need a guy good at scoring from open play. So you strip the penalties out of the totals to get numbers more accurate to what you look at.
My last one on this, so you are guaranteed to get the last word in if you want it.

You are correct in that penalties are not a skill unique to strikers. It's a fair cop.

Neither is heading the ball a skill unique to strikers. Or scoring a goal. Or being athletic. Or having positional sense. Or making an effort to chase a loose ball.

Not one skill unique to a striker, but ones I'd look for in any I wanted to sign. Would I also want the striker concerned to have the nerve and technique to score penalties? Fucking right I would.

This may not be a unique skill, but it shows Berahino has the balls to step up. Shows he can hit the target from twelve yards when one of our other strikers missed from twelve inches.
