Camacho deal with WBA fallen through. He's a good footballer and would improve our squad no doubt about it.

Don't think we've been linked though. I think we were a year or two ago.

I understand your view but it also means you don't rate the ability of the youth to fill that void of the fringe players sold. It is the philosophy Poch has been preaching since he has been here, we did it last year with Alli, Kane etc. and it continues again this year.
If the youth is good enough/ready for it, that would work. Are they do? From what I've seen thus far from Onomah, Winks and Carroll (if the latter even clasifies as youth...) I'm sceptical. Heck, even Pochettino hasn't really given them more than a couple of minutes as late subs to see out games this season. And it's not like we were playing so amazing that we didn't need to make some changes. It's all nice saying the youth will take over from those departing the club, but sometimes the youth just isn't ready. Where were youth strikers like Harrison last season when we had no back-up striker to Kane? Even teams famous for their youth academies like Barcelona and Ajax sign players from the outside to fill in gaps in the squad that can't immediately be solved by using youth players. I'm a big fan of using youth players, but we should also recognise that sometimes they just aren't ready. Onomah for instance really looks like he could use a loan first.

Overall I am very happy with the business we have done: we made 2 quality signings in Wanyama & Janssen early on. Now we've shifted a lot of the deadwood, most of which hardly featured last season so it's not a huge loss.

I just feel the squad looks a bit thin given we're competing in the CL this season - no more "Let's play the kids in the Europa League" bollocks; this is the big time and we should want to give the best possible account of ourselves.

No doubt that *if* fit, our starting 11 could give most teams a real problem but beyond that, have we got a strong enough squad to compete in the CL & challenge for the top 4 again?

I would love for Edwards & Onomah to storm it and prove me wrong, but I don't think it's fair to expect either of them to have a Dele Alli-esque breakthrough season is it?

Again, this is your view that they are not ready, no problem with that view. Did you think Alli was ready last year? Almost everyone thought he would go out on loan, including me. The point is Poch thinks they are ready, just as he thought Alli was ready.

We do miss one or two players indeed. The fact that you want Eriksen benched and suggest those four players as replacements to start says it all really, lol. Only Son would I trust to start against Stoke of those four.

Wondering what happens if we get injuries, say Lamela, Kane and Alli are injured, then we are left with Son Eriksen and Nkoudou as the 3 AM's

Sissoko doesn't fill me with confidence.

He was head and shoulders the best player in the France MF in the Euros - above Pogba, Matuidi, Kante, Scheiderlin, etc. Every time he's played for someone other than Newcastle (Toulouse, France, etc) he's been immense.

He was terrific in some matches for Newcastle as well (generally when they were on TV playing against "big" clubs). Hell, even an unmotivated Sissoko last season put up some very good stats (2.3 dribbles per match, 1.5 key passes, etc).

The talent is clearly there, and he fits a need we badly need filled (cover for Dembele, pace/dribbling). If Poch thinks he can consistently tap the talent, he'd be a great signing.

Surprised no photos of Njie on his way to France or reports of him being allowed away from Cameroon duty etc.

It seems to be that he is still involved in everything.
