I've got a sneaky feeling tomorrow is the day.

Juventus... GET YOUR OWN FUCKING SCOUTS.

Ricardo Pereira
Douglas Costa
Patrik Schik
Balde Keita
Joao Cancelo

Wouldn't be surprised to see them linked with Juan fucking Foyth any minute now.

But what if the person with the friend isn't told a name, but merely advised "I can't say who, but we're in talks with a top class Italian striker"?

Alternatively, they might know the name, but are advised not to leak it as it will be obvious if it comes back to them.

e.g. if your mate was in the room when poch and levy spoke about, say for example, Balotelli. If you tell everyone "We're after balotelli" it would potentially be obvious who the leak was. If you say "we're polling for a plasma" (ballot telly, I dunno I don't make this shit to), it's vague enough that maybe it won't bite you (or your mate) in the ass.

I bet the person who took the photo of Poch and his sons walking thru the turnstile at Hotspur way got sacked or bummed for it.

No way you could sack someone in any situation like this. If a deal is being discussed at minimum the player and his family know, the player's agent and a number of that agent's staff know, and club chairmen, people in finance and the legal departments, and on both coaching staffs know. No way you can pin all of that down on some poor intern who was tasked with purchasing a flight ticket.

And absolutely not if we're talking about someone who the press has been touting for months. It's a football transfer, not an intelligence operation...ITK is just horseshit attention seekers throwing darts and speaking vaguely so when something eventually comes off they can big up themselves and pretend they don't live in the parent's basement and steal old lady's shoes.

"I can't say anything, or my mate will get sacked!"

You absolutely can if you sign a confidentiality contract.

It's the same in a lot of things, especially conveyancing

I didn't say it's couldn't be considered a breach of contract. I'm saying it would be difficult, near impossible, to prove that it was a specific individual when there are many, many people who may have divulged it. I could pop into a coffee shop with free wifi and tell you that we're signing Barkley at noon tomorrow for 30M, and no club is going to go to the expense to investigate that down to that point.

Seriously...there are government officials leaking classified information to the press every single day, and they aren't hiding in their closet wearing a tin hat because someone is coming for them. It's really not hard...and...again...its a football transfer.

At least I've learnt a new Fighting Cock paradox today

"ITK isn't real because no one know what's happening, it's not possible................except if someone might get sacked, then literally hundreds of people could logically be privy..."

"....but even if those people know stuff, they don't know anything"

My priority list would be:

1. Quality right back. Pereira or Cancelo would be ideal
2. Barkley / AN Other versatile midfielder. Almost on a par with (1).

I'd say this was the minimum for the window.

3. Fast, dynamic Son-type mediapunta
4. Young CB, maybe a bit more experienced than Foyth if Wimmer goes, would rather he stays tho really
5. Young 3rd choice keeper who Toni can get to work on and who can step up if/when Vorm moves on. Not Gazza N-Word ideally.
Optimistic

If I told a small group of people a secret, and suddenly everyone found out, I can guarantee you I'd know who blabbed.

A quite rudimentary method is to tell different people slightly differing details, which then makes it clear where the information came from.

This is a world where a single transfer can now easily be worth over £100m - where one club can steal another transfer just before a contract is due to be signed - it most definitely is stringent on confidentiality, not least with us.
