If you want to talk "reality":

Reality: We absolutely can not compete in spending big.
Reality: If spending big is what is needed to win the title, we do not stand a chance.

Reality: Despite not spending big, we keep moving closer to the title.
Reality: Over the last two seasons combined, we've been by far the best team in the league.

If you want to give up, based on your hypothesis that spending big is a requirement for winning the title, feel free to do so.

I, on the other hand, prefer to stay positive with regards to our progress and chance to succeed following the formula that has worked so well for us over the last few seasons. If we can establish ourselves as the Dortmund/Atletico Madrid of the PL I'd be very happy about that, and I think our chances of seeing silverware from such a position would be excellent.
I am happy with top 4 so bog off.

This is true, but which other top six side is building a new stadium? Well respected my arse. They're just stating the obvious. Pundits and fans expect us to run before we can walk. In some respects I wish we had not had our recent success and it came instead after the new stadium was built. Competing at the top has only increased fan expectation ten fold. We won't be in a position to pay mega bucks for probably three to four seasons at minimum. We are punching above our weight right now. We are a long term project and we must be prepared to see peaks and troughs in the short term when it comes to the level at which we compete. Over the long term we have steadily improved and that will continue. There will come a time when we can pay the bigger salaries and transfer fees and truly compete, but fans need to be reasonable and understand that we just aren't there yet.
But they wouldn't want us to spend big even if we weren't building a stadium.

Estadio Wanda Metropolitano is an expansion of a stadium already in existence...

Not really, this is what they started with...

It was built for a failed Olympics bid for 2012 and again for 2016, it never got beyond this stage. It was used for a couple of athletics meets and that was that. They've pulled down the top tier and maybe the bottom too, the top one wasn't in fantastic condition as I remember and couldn't be incorporated into the new plans.

So more or less they have built it from scratch. One reason it's costing less as far as I know is that the land and what you see above is owned by the City Council, I think they're leasing it to Atleti

I just voted Case into the bin for coming up with this abortion of a forum

Why don't all you cunts log off and use the time saved to do something else? do a couple of hours working for a charity, or emailing an old friend or anything else productive, fuck this shit look at yourselves

Keep on lurkin', guvnor!

Other way around - they kept the top tier. It's a bit of a Frankenstadium.

So where am I mistaken?
