When looking at transfers you have to asses the need for them. No point spending money for no reason and it can also be distruptive for the squad.

Goalkeeper: fine with 2 good goal keepers
CB: if we lose Wimmer we need to replace but Toby, Verts, Dier, CCV should be enough
RB: depends on Kyle Walker Peters, massively rated but is he ready
LB: Fine
DM: Victor and Dier is fine
CM: Dembele, Winks, Onomah, even moving Dele or Dier in their so we are ok
AM: when Lamela is back we have a good set but we lack an explosive player, closest we have is Nkouduo but Poch doesn't trust him
Striker: Kane is the best in the Prem and Janssen I believe once he settles will be fine.

To me we should spend all our money on a special player in the AM position. If we had spent £60 mil on Bernardo Silva and no-one else that would have been a great window. Why not try and buy Bernardeschi or someone, we don't need lots of players, just one or two who can add that bit extra.
Bernardeschi just went to Juventus today.

Based on this we should just sign one player who can play backup in every position and we will be more than fine throughout.

Is John O'Shea available?

Met a bunch of Celtic fans in Vegas over the summer and asked them how good Dembele was. They were absolutely insistent that Leigh Griffiths was a better player. We more or less laughed them off but if Celtic fans rate Griffiths over Dembele, then perhaps he wont be quite the level we are looking for.

Although Griffiths then scored 2 freekicks against us the next morning and left a lot of egg on our faces. Maybe we should sign Leigh Griffiths.
You're better off in Vegas ya balloon.

Sparky is fucken dynamite. Dembele or him would be a worthy addition to our squad.

We could even swap out Janssen plus say 10m for one of them.

Oh. Your suggestion he would cost an insane amount gave me the impression he'd be out of our reach. I'm sorry if I misinterpreted your post
Nah, more that paying 30-40mil, in the current transfer climate for a back up striker probably isn't in Poch's plans. Especially when he's been so vocal in his support for Janssen and also since Poch had a good look at him in recent times and decided to let the opportunity pass.

I think the penny is dropping among most fans now.....the thread is taking a much more realistic tone (not surprisingly since the Poch ESPN interview)

Good to see people lowering their demands regarding marquee this and next level that.

Seems like the vibe is more about rough diamonds and youngsters the last few pages. The club will have a much easier transition next season with the majority of fans behind it instead of half going into the Newcastle game accusing it of letting them
down.

Tomo Tomo whats your take on Gray from Leicester as that AM? That's one I would love to see replace Njie

Been busy all day .

Is Alex Hunter available ?

If Poch wants him I would be ok with that, he caused us issues when we played them. He has the speed and skill, just needs more of an end product but you feels watching him he could a really good player and a type of player we lack.

Was a bit sad when Zaha signed a new deal, he was a nightmare for so many teams to play against and also pressed and worked so hard last season. Power, pace, creativity and a hard worker.

Obviously like every other poster, I am not in the club and the only players who offer that mercurial touch if that's what you can call it would be Nkouduo or Edwards and the question is are they good enough or do we need to go into the market.

Funny thing is with Ginola, Bale, Waddle etc these type of players have been regulars at our club and now it's the type of player we lack. I really believe once we have this added touch we have the other ingredients.
