I wonder if Siggy is worth that much to them or if I'd rather invest in a few players to balance their squad.

And a manager that can coach a squad so they don't need to rely on one mediocre player to stay up

Good point mate.

The difficulty for Swansea is that Sigurdsson is somewhat talismanic and that he may give them over 25% of assists and goals. Bit like Bale did for us.

I suspect Swansea will try and buy soon enough becsuse I think Sigurdsson will want to leave.

This of course makes the sale of Barkley even more likely.

Good point but like Bale was for us I suspect the problem for Swansea is that Sigurdsson is probably responsible for 25% of their goals in one form or another.

But I also suspect they will be actively looking at viable options because I sense Sigurdsson would want this move.

It does of course represent mad money but the logical consideration of this is that Barkley is nearly definite to move on and I have to say I hope that is towards us.

However you look at it I think this is the summer before the winter for the Premier League though.

The sums being spent cannot be sustained.

No need. What did your country invent apart from Lego?

Lego for you and hats with corks for Art Vandelay Art Vandelay That's pretty cool. What's it like to be known as the International Trumpton and Camberwick Green alliance? Pretty special huh?
Denmark did produce the great Tycho Brahe.

Tycho Brahe - Wikipedia

If you genuinely think that hats with corks is all we invented then I think you need to broaden your horizons a bit mate, you know wifi? That thing you are using to go on the internet right now at decent speed? Invented by an Australian. Pacemakers? Invented in Australia. The 'black box' on planes that has helped make planes safer? Australia. Google Maps (before Google bought the idea)? Australia. Ultrasounds? Australia.

I don't want this to be a big American style 'oh look how great my country is' but if you're going to be an ignorant prick while being a xenophobic asshole at least be factually correct.
If you're going to list, may I suggest bullet points? CJJ CJJ did it the other day. It made all the difference

Regarding the massive fees being thrown around willy nilly I too think they cannot survive in the long run. Either the revenue streams from TV will deminish and we go back to only a few select clubs being able to throw Scrooge McDuck money around.

Or more and more clubs tire of these stupid fees and start looking more towards promoting internally rather than buying to enhance their squads.

How far away either of those scenarios is or how likely I do not know. But I don't think these fees are sustainable long term.

Inventions are never simply "made". Often there is a gradual process where someone has an idea, someone else tries it, and then finally someone else, years later, perfects it. I appreciate you've pulled many of these from a click bait "top 10 things you didn't know Australians invented", but many are a bit iffy.

Wifi - Vic Hayes came up with the idea. John O'sullivan, an Australian, improved it. Some credit there, but to say you "invented it", is a little far fetched.

Pacemaker - This one is true, but it wasn't what we imagine a pacemaker to be like today. In 1920 Mark Cowley Lidwill, Australian, put an electrical needle into a dead babies heart and revived it. Is this a pacemaker or a defibrillator? Weird semantics, but I'll give you that one.

Flight Recorder - The first Flight Recorders were made around 1939. The British used Flight Recorders during WW2, to see how and why a plane crashed. In 1953 Warren, an Australian, added voice recording and made the item more durable. Funnily enough these flight recorders were manufactured by *Drum roll* Britain, because no one else in the world gave a fuck.

There's about 5 countries who have claimed to have "invented" or "patented" the Flight Recorder/Black Box. Adding voice recording to an already existent item does not mean you "invented" it.

I'm not even going to google google maps as it's not really a historical bragging point.

Ultrasound - If you mean Ultrasound in a medical sense I.e. For babies then it was made by a Scottish bloke called Ian Donald in 1956. Australians didn't touch Ultrasound until 1962.

A lot of these are stretching the truth very far. You improved a lot of this technology, but to say you invented it is baffling. The Black Box was around 14 years before you touched it. Ultrasound was around 6 years before you touched it. Wifi already existed before John O'Sullivan touched it, but he made it far more reliable.

Again, anyone bragging about inventions is always suspect to people disagreeing because every country claims to have invented everything. Someone will make the theory, a bloke will patent it, someone else across the globe will invent it, another guy in the middle of nowhere will actually test it and everyone of them is claiming to have invented it.
I care about none of that. All I care about, in contrast to the held belief by sheep shagging New Zealanders, the humble Pavlova is Australian. No other argument of origin matters

do we believe any of that tripe surrounding Edwards?

For those who have not seen it apparently he is one of those who rates himself and has the tatts and hair to prove it – Poch has had enough. Of course this could be started by parties with a vested interest or complete BS to stir the hornets nest.

This is what is comes down too... Reading some shite news and feeding it back – my first time, at least with heroin there is some good feeling at the end of it. With this I feel like i've sold my soul...
