BARKLEY '100%' TO LEAVE

Ronald Koeman has said he "100 per cent" expects Ross Barkley to leave Everton this summer.

Speaking ahead of Everton's Europa League qualifying clash with Ruzomberok tomorrow, Koeman said: "His situation is not too difficult, we made a good offer of a contract, he declined and told me that he is looking for a new challenge.

"It is not Everton future any more, it is his decision but the board say there is no offer on the table for Ross. I knew it at the end of the season."

The fuck are you trolling about now, baby!

The last paragraph is interesting though
No offer on the table.
I hope we sign him though. Could become a legend for us.

In other words, Koeman is saying

"He wants to leave, he's for sale, so can someone please come and offer more than Spurs are"
He's got 12 months left on his contract. If the entire market wasn't bending over backwards to prove who can pay more for bang average talent then I would say that even 20m pounds is over the odds for a player set to move on a free next summer.

I'm not convinced by Barkley, but if it means we lose Sissoko then I'll be happy.

Oh there's been lot saying that IF we don't make any signings they'd be happy to go with what we have. Trust in Poch and so on. Have faith in the youth....the threads riddled with it.
Are those views mutually exclusive then?

I think the squad needs strengthening but IF etc etc.....

The only split on here are those that will have a monumental melt down if we don't sign anyone and those that'd take it on the chin and trust Poch/levy know what they're doing.

People have been saying a variety of the following:-

1) Trust the manager that he know what he is doing behind the scenes and if he believes we don't need loads of signings because of talent coming through then give him the benefit of the doubt;

2) The window is not nearly over yet;

3) We have a chairman who will not just splash cash for the sake of it;

4) We already have an established first team and finding players to play as back up squad members is not as easy as filling an obvious hole in the squad, especially when you also can't pay mega bucks to such a player.

I don't see how any of that amounts to "don't sign anyone". The truth is that there is a certain breed of fan that isn't happy if we don't spunk loads of cash on half a dozen world class signings after the last day of the season. That will find some way to keep moaning.
