I thought about the past years of deadline days... it's not as popular as it used to be. Reasonable clubs finish signing players before the season kicks off. Deadline Day was fun under Redknapp as we signed some great players for good money and most of them today are very decent players.

But look at the last 4 years. Fuck all in the last transfers week. Pau Lopez, Sissoko, GKN, Stambouli, Fazio is what we signed. There were promises of Berahino, Zaha, Isco, O. Dembele, Schneiderlin, Witsel... I have just read reports from 2014, we were even in for Mane when he still was at Salzburg, they rejected a €14 million bid back then. Only exception from this routine was Son. Obviously a player who cost more than the 10m ones.

That's a bit of an exploitation of hindsight though. We've had plenty of good deadline signings, like Eriksen, Lloris,VDV etc.
 
Hopefully we can confirm aurier but getting Sessegnon (one for the future) would also be good. With Sanchez, that's all defensive players. We need a pacy right winger. Left side too but maybe that's asking for too much so late in the window!

From what I saw of him versus us when we stuck two past him and at Rayo, who my brother-in-law and mate support yeah. You won't be surprised to learn that the following clip got shown again and again on Spanish television and online.

So what is wrong with you exactly? Some sort of autism?

The only deadline day signings we've made since 2014 are GKN (and that's a stretch, as he was pretty much signed weeks before), Stambouli and Sissoko.

There isn't a pattern, so no reason to judge it as one. What makes this year different is that this year we have solid confirmation that we're looking to bring in a few players with just a few days left.

As for the youtube clip, well done, Im sure I could make Harry Kane look shit in one clip.

Good that you have determined that Pau Lopez was better from that (LOL).....or is it just anything the club does this window is wrong.

So we've had a aberrant run the last few years? We've actually done some good business selling on deadline day recently.

You can't say 2016 was a bad year, given Sissoko has only been given 1 season to settle in and looked quite good when he came on the other day. Could easily be like Son and turn it up several notches this season.

search any keeper on youTube and you will find the occasional gaff. Guess we're lucky we missed out on this guy?

Reports saying Liverpool are preparing a 75 mil bid. They had a 64.5 mil bid rejected even after they signed keita,so don't think those two have any link to each other.
