I will be hugely disappointed. For me it would be a devastating kick in the teeth for the fans, and a disgraceful public humiliation of our manager who has achieved so much in his 3 years at the club.

Our manager who sold Walker, and went for Aurier despite being fully aware of the legal issues (or is he a Levy target in your mind)

Our manager who has reportedly got cold feet on Barkley (his target for a whole year) two days before the window shut. Or are his injury concerns Levys fault.

Our manager who hasnt specifically targeted any forwards, yet has loaned out Onomah and sold Njie without giving him a shot? Or has Levy told him to only target defenders and CMs?

Our manager who said one week he is happy with the squad, and the next he wants 4 players?
(Two of which he got)

Our manager who said KWP wasnt ready then played him in the opener?

Our manager who keeps saying Wembley isnt a problem when we all know it is?

Oh Im a "Poch lover" alright, but take your tongue out of his batty mate....he's done enough to take a bit of credit for any humiliation he might have to suffer

Poch is young and a lot of these things he is yet to experience, especially as a manager of a big club.

He clearly has a particular type of player he likes, I still think a maverick signing from an attacking perspective would reinvigorate us, I just don't know who though :(

At this rate Jim White is going to be stationed outside Hotspur way himself wearing a yellow morph suit that is sponsored by carabao (whatever the fuck it is) violently wanking away at the thought of bringing us a 'sky exclusive'

Genuine Question:

For those who seem to delight in the negativity of things, choosing to believe the worst of the club, insisting we won't sign anyone, concluding the window before it is closed....

...if we don't sign anyone, will you be happy you were right, or disappointed?

:sonhmm:

He is definitely learning and one thing Ive noticed is that for all his strengths and brilliance, he cannot let stubborness get in the way.

There are players who can do a job for us, and he needs to be better at using the squad. Not just talk about how the first team need competition, but actually challenge them.

If you want Janssen here, as is obviously the case, give him some fucking game time, so Kane knows its not ok to squander 5 chances in a game. Ditto Eriksen and Alli.

Needs to make subs and use what we have, also needs to be better at utilising our best style of play....if Wembley isnt a problem, why have we stopped playing the way we did at WHL?

He has a lot to learn, and will, and this season will be a big test for eveybody.

Do you seriously believe that's how people think?

As Naylor said, disappointed but not that surprised.

As for the smug "negative life" jibe, do you honestly think peole who are critical of our transfer policy wallow in the slough of despond, forever wailing and gnashing their teeth?

Considering the attitude of some on here, yes.

I find it genuinely disgusting that the mere suggestion by rags like the Sun that the club are doing something wrong, they jump on it like tramps on chips, jubilantly proclaiming it as evidence.

It's the hope that kills you. That might as well have been written with Spurs in mind. After 45 years I have learned not to build up my hopes, it usually (ie, 99% of the time) ends in disapointment.
If things do work out for the best then it is a nice unexpected bonus.

Absolutely, but I don't think it justifies being a preacher of despair and negativity (a role which is clearly part of the forum for some)

Also telling that Bill automatically feels the need to defend himslef

It's unsubtle and noticeable when you get accused of being "smug" for asking a serious question about the motives of some on here.

I've started to notice that any thread that criticises the club, or otherwise troll-like posts, are positively rated by a regular group of posters - it's made me start to feel that people are hoping to be proved right, rather than wrong.

Or because they all share the same worry and are hoping they're wrong.

If I join a global warming protest group, I don't do this in the hopes that we all drown. I do it so that hopefully someone notices and to communicate my worries to others.

I'm not sure how this foundation of human interaction has escaped you. People with similar worries will group together, it's comforting to know others feel the same way.

Renato Sanches is exactly the kind of player we should be looking at to give us something else from wide or in the middle. On a loan we'd have nothing to lose as well - first option to buy in the deal though

It's not similar worries - we're talking about any post that slanders the club. I've seen blatant troll accounts come on here and talk bollocks like "We're shit and getting relegated" and some of the negative clan will click 'agree' because the Daily Mail says we're signing Andy Carroll.
