Or because they all share the same worry and are hoping they're wrong.

If I join a global warming protest group, I don't do this in the hopes that we all drown. I do it so that hopefully someone notices and to communicate my worries to others.

I'm not sure how this foundation of human interaction has escaped you. People with similar worries will group together, it's comforting to know others feel the same way.

The difference is that nothing will appease them....they've been complaining for years...the imaginary stadium, the disastrous window in January.....writing us off back in December....same old crap.

Its one thing having concerns, but most of the whining isnt even looking at the problems.

Pochettino's baffling subs and favouritsim is far more of a concern than the summer window. So is Wembley....but not many care.

A few will be in for a shock when we make the signings they want, and we are not suddenly winning 10-0 every week.

Although I mentioned earlier I am usually disappointed on deadline day, I can't help but feel we are going to be surprised in a good way by our dealings.

Personally I'd be over the moon if we end the window with Sanchez, Foyth, Aurier and Origi.

Barkley would be nice, but he's a necessity with having Dele, Eriksen, Son and Lamela all fighting for a position.

I was thinking before that Woolwich have been absolutely woeful since they gave in to fan demand and started signing players from Football Manager.

Strangest thing is that I guarantee that everyone will be happy with our window when it closes, but I'm not sure that's even enough for some. As you say, it'll turn into "shouldn't have waited until the last minute" in an effort to ignore that somethings in life are about a chain of events

Yep.....no one gives a fuck about Sanchez anymore....almost like we didnt sign him.

Just moan about the next one taking too long/being too late.......and if they hit the ground running, we wasted the Burnley game anyway

Fucking hell, I don't even fall into the description you guys are producing here - but even I think this is a load of ad hominem piffle. Attack the arguments, not the people. If someone is right, even with different motivations to yourselves, they can still be correct.

The counter to your posts here would be "okay, and if we don't sign Aurier then I'm sure you'll continue to belittle people's critiques of our transfer policy".

We'll end up with (in my vaguely informed opinion) by the window closes

  • Davinson Sanchez (club record fee €40m ish)
  • Paulo Gazziniga (£2.5m approx)
  • Ross Barkley (I estimate £23m with add-ons)
  • Juan Foyth (probably £12m with add-ons)
  • Serge Aurier (around €25m all in)
  • Ryan Sessegnon (around £20m + add-ons)
and maybe even something a bit audacious. So easily £100m spend.

Yet again, we'll have managed to improve nearly every area of the team and maybe even hit net spend by selling players like Wimmer for £18m. I'm sure someone will find a reason to burst the balloon of joy, though.

It's no ad hominem, as the whole point is not an 'argument' or a point, but an attitude.

The whole issue is "why can't people be positive and support a team instead of looking for reasons to criticise it".

I wouldn't presume that posters (perhaps ones coming across more negatively at present) are simply here to criticise the team. This is my problem with what you were saying - as soon as you label posters with having 'an attitude' then in turn their qualms with what's currently going on in the transfer window can potentially be dismissed. Hence why I was saying you and Sammy were targeting the people and not their individual points.

In this thread, I couldn't give a fuck what someone's attitude is. I want Spurs to bring the players in to strengthen us.

If you mean we will sign 4 players by this window in less than 50 hrs then NO won't happen.

Absolutely, but I don't think it justifies being a preacher of despair and negativity (a role which is clearly part of the forum for some)
Although you could also argue that those at the other end of the spectrum, like yourself, who refuse to never, ever, ever, criticise any aspect of the way the club is run, are also a negative influence.
It's like a willingness to accept our lot. No burning desire to see the club push on to the next level. A lazy, lack lustre acceptance that we should be grateful that we never had it so good.

You have been showing that attitude for years, and yet we continue to improve through faith and patience...

Our manager who sold Walker, and went for Aurier despite being fully aware of the legal issues (or is he a Levy target in your mind)

Our manager who has reportedly got cold feet on Barkley (his target for a whole year) two days before the window shut. Or are his injury concerns Levys fault.

Our manager who hasnt specifically targeted any forwards, yet has loaned out Onomah and sold Njie without giving him a shot? Or has Levy told him to only target defenders and CMs?

Our manager who said one week he is happy with the squad, and the next he wants 4 players?
(Two of which he got)

Our manager who said KWP wasnt ready then played him in the opener?

Our manager who keeps saying Wembley isnt a problem when we all know it is?

Oh Im a "Poch lover" alright, but take your tongue out of his batty mate....he's done enough to take a bit of credit for any humiliation he might have to suffer

Our manager that has given us two title challenges in the last two seasons, two champions league qualifications and created an amazing team (based on last season).

To criticise him is shocking. What exactly were you expecting from the last two-year seasons? I for one would not have even dreamt of us challenging for the title twice! Get a grip.

You do not know what goes on behind the scenes.

Walker - he sold walker? Thought he was a manger/coach? Levy sold walker. Maybe a player who refused to play for us and 50m to use on players that do was more appealing?? How do you know he didn't outline possible options and it's the people that do the negotiations that failed to secure the players he wanted. On aurier, Poch is meant to understand immigration law now?

Barkley - maybe Everton are asking for two much? Maybe he doesn't want to buy an injured player and prefers to wait until January where he may be fit and also half the price! Someone else might buy him but again that's down to levy being prepared to spend 25m+ on an injured player. Money doesn't come out of poch's pocket!

Wembley - you know it's a problem? Maybe the results speak for themselves but what do you expect him to say publicly? Of course he will play it down and want his team to focus on their game and not all this media crap

Loaned Onomah and sold Njie - they got plenty of chances to impress last season and they are not up to standard. Onomah may come good which is why he was loaned and not sold.

Kwp isn't ready? - don't remember poch saying that recently. Yes he played him in the opener. We had no one else. What would you have preferred.he needs experience and he got it. what's the problem.

Happy with the squad - what's he supposed to say? "Nah they're shit, we need to buy? What we need is a world-class superstar. What needed changing from last season. We needed replace walker, add depth. That's what we are doing all be it late. That isn't down to poch. He doesnt negotiate business deals!

Settle for Plan B. Out of your predictions one is injured, one has to receive work permit in the matter of two days, one is just for the future and the last might happen, but not this summer.
