Fair enough. If that scenario were to unfold without a trade off of any more of our top players I'll come on here and lick Levy's balls till the cows come home.

Now, can you give me an alternative scenario where you would be prepared to level some criticism at Levy and admit the transfer window has been a let down at best or shambles at worst?

If we had a repeat of the Berbatov/Keane thing, then absolutely. If the manager came out and said anything negative about the chairman, then yes.

The thing is, though, that certain things have to be 'in character'. To determine a character, you need (without doubt) to take a least a moment to consider that character. I've not heard anything from anyone at the club, not a current or ex-player, that justifies any of the perception some have of the guy.

By all accounts, he loves signing players - but he also loves his business, and I imagine he gets a right old kick off selling the likes of Wimmer for as much as he did. He'll also rightfully look at the likes of Barkley and say "OK Mauricio, we can look at Ross Barkley, but do you really want to use all of the Walker money to sign a player who I think we can get for much less if we wait it out" or "OK Mauricio, but do you really want another Lamela - a player that can be so important, but you can't plan for because he's (potentially) going to have fitness concerns?". I just don't see why it's taken as implausible that Mauricio might sit down with Levy and say "If this club sign this player, they might be willing to let this other player of theirs leave", and so he might well be implicit in the waiting game...

To summarise, to direct some valid criticism, all I'd need is some validity to it - but it has to actually be plausible, not any of the myths and rumours that are taken as fact.

The child of those two GIFs is either incredible or horrific.

To be fair that seems to account for the majority of what passes for opinion on both sides of the fence. In fact that could pretty well summarise the last 1244 pages. :pochserious2:

Endless laughter at TFC melts' expense = free.

We really need some Joe Lewis heads for when we all want to bitch about money.

If you take what others say about Levy - agents, supporters trust, other managers, ex-managers of ours, ex-players (even disgruntled ones) - he is spoken of fondly and with respect. Sherwood and Redknapp stand out as people who have said things that debunk the common perception of how we approach transfers from the boardroom.

I wouldn't presume that posters (perhaps ones coming across more negatively at present) are simply here to criticise the team. This is my problem with what you were saying - as soon as you label posters with having 'an attitude' then in turn their qualms with what's currently going on in the transfer window can potentially be dismissed. Hence why I was saying you and Sammy were targeting the people and not their individual points.

In this thread, I couldn't give a fuck what someone's attitude is. I want Spurs to bring the players in to strengthen us.

Holy shit, Forum Nice guy going in hard!

Nice to see praise and some early eccuses for our micro Lord protector. Its a shame the media have a somewhat low opinion of him as a football man.
I hope it's not the usual last minute underwhelming save a few quid fuck up .

It's open game apparently, as he's quite shy and so won't come out and do interviews/tweet like some of the thundercunts who are involved in the running of other clubs. As long as it's not defamatory, there's little legal implication to doing it I guess.

As a threat to the "superclub" circle of Liverpool, United, Woolwich and Chelsea, both Spurs and City seem to get the brunt of the media, in an attempt (I assume) to de-stabilise the fans.

There's always going to be 5 Stamboulis for every one Van der Vaart, but I think we're due one of the latter.
