Jovetic has taken Mbappe's number 10 shirt, so I guess he's the Mbappe replacement. Not sure if they've replaced all the players they've sold yet
They have been bringing in a fair few players - impressive that Tielemans (genuinely forgot that they hoovered him up until this moment) was the most expensive at £22.5m.

Until Balde, I assume.

Very profitable model they've now got going. Shame that they won't even get close to defending their league win this season.

We'll end up with (in my vaguely informed opinion) by the window closes

  • Davinson Sanchez (club record fee €40m ish)
  • Paulo Gazziniga (£2.5m approx)
  • Ross Barkley (I estimate £23m with add-ons)
  • Juan Foyth (probably £12m with add-ons)
  • Serge Aurier (around €25m all in)
  • Ryan Sessegnon (around £20m + add-ons)
and maybe even something a bit audacious. So easily £100m spend.

Yet again, we'll have managed to improve nearly every area of the team and maybe even hit net spend by selling players like Wimmer for £18m. I'm sure someone will find a reason to burst the balloon of joy, though.
I am intrigued by the above but:
1. When was the last time Spurs signed 2 players (not 4) in the last 48 hours?
2. Any EPL club signed 4 players in the last 48 hours?

Didn't woolwich sign 5 players on/around TDD in 2011? (that's without thinking about it much)

Also, 1: we signed 2 on TDD last year

Genuine Question:

For those who seem to delight in the negativity of things, choosing to believe the worst of the club, insisting we won't sign anyone, concluding the window before it is closed....

...if we don't sign anyone, will you be happy you were right, or disappointed?

:sonhmm:
I'll be disappointed. Not because I think it will affect our season too badly (RWB aside) but because I think it will prove to our squad that Danny Rose was right. It will look like a lack of ambition first and foremost.

Our manager who sold Walker, and went for Aurier despite being fully aware of the legal issues (or is he a Levy target in your mind)

Our manager who has reportedly got cold feet on Barkley (his target for a whole year) two days before the window shut. Or are his injury concerns Levys fault.

Our manager who hasnt specifically targeted any forwards, yet has loaned out Onomah and sold Njie without giving him a shot? Or has Levy told him to only target defenders and CMs?

Our manager who said one week he is happy with the squad, and the next he wants 4 players?
(Two of which he got)

Our manager who said KWP wasnt ready then played him in the opener?

Our manager who keeps saying Wembley isnt a problem when we all know it is?

Oh Im a "Poch lover" alright, but take your tongue out of his batty mate....he's done enough to take a bit of credit for any humiliation he might have to suffer
Here we go again sammy. I'm going to let you in on a secret here, but our players also play outside of matches in something called training. My guess is Poch sold N'jie and lent out Onomah on the basis of their performances in the training sessions.

Do you think maybe, just maybe that Poch wanted to make additions to the squad all along? What's happening is that Levy has been fucking him over all summer and now he's putting pressure on him publicly. We all knew it was going to happen. Poch and his team deliver a list of targets and none of them are bought. Instead we end up with the likes of N'koudou, N'jie and Sissoko. Every fucking summer and this one is no different. Fucking shambles of a window.

Trippier was injured for the opener, which is why KWP got his debut.

Do you want the manager to go out and say we can't play at Wembley? How fucking dumb are you

This narrative you've been peddling all summer is falling apart just like your mind. Hope you're happy, this is exactly what you wanted

The difference is that nothing will appease them....they've been complaining for years...the imaginary stadium, the disastrous window in January.....writing us off back in December....same old crap.

Its one thing having concerns, but most of the whining isnt even looking at the problems.

Pochettino's baffling subs and favouritsim is far more of a concern than the summer window. So is Wembley....but not many care.

A few will be in for a shock when we make the signings they want, and we are not suddenly winning 10-0 every week.
So now you're turning on the manager scott scott Tottenham Massive Tottenham Massive Don Corleone Don Corleone this is incredible

Ooh a bit strong but I do think those who justified our lack of movement early doors must now be wondering what is going on.

Check back and the man to whom you refer did mention his disappointment if it end up 5 out 1 in.

Just saying.

I don't know about woolwich.
Last year we signed Wanyama and Janssen early on. Sissoko last hour and Nkouda was already in London for few weeks, done his medical ...etc and pen on paper Aug 31st. 2016.
Neither Sergi, Foyth, RB or Sess anywhere near N17 but hope you're right, will see.

The guy has been done nothing but insult me whenever I've said I thought a player would improve the squad. Might've changed his tune, but that's not what he entered the window thinking

I swear if that paves a way for Lemar to join Liverpool or Woolwich...

:dembelefingers:
can you imagine the meltdowns at Woolwich if he signs for Liverpool. After Wenger said it's dead in the water, won't happen.
They seem adamant they won't sell him.
Lemar was rotated last season.
They have bought a striker, a midfielder a defensive m a left back and a centre back. Maybe they are stocking up
Sold too many of their team already a third..
It will be heartbreaking if he goes to Liverpool.
There was £40m odd difference in our wage bills last returns.
I don't think Liverpool can compete with Woolwich wages wise
He's on peanuts at Monaco. Supposedly gets less than £5k a week.
Surely if we wanted him the salary would be very acceptable.
He would be getting more game time as Liverpool have Mane and we are in better shape than Woolwich.
If he goes anywhere not either of those 2 . Woolwich I could understand, French, Wenger.
But fucking Liverpool
We are supposed to have the most progressive manager when it comes to youngsters.
What has Klopp got.

I don't think Poch likes wingers anyway.
When we have had pace on the flanks he has used it sparingly. Nkoudo hasn't had a decent run out, and neither did Njie.
He doesn't seem interested in those types. More player who can interchange along the front 3.
He used the full backs as wingers.

Perfect post proving misery loves company.

Aurier is all done, pending paperwork. Barkley has apparently been sewn up pending formalities ('official' bid follows informal negotiations and contract talks etc.), so will be easy to conclude. Foyth is apparently all done pending WP.

The only one with a bit of work involved would be Sessegnon, but it's not going to be too much of a pain - he's not involved in Internationals (that I know of), and is surely no more than 30 mins away from Hotspur Way at any point, even if he's at home.

Jokanović will probably shit his pants if we pull off Sessegnon, but he seems to have a 1mm long fuse anyway. I imagine it's only going to be likely if we get a decent offer in place in prep for them to use any funds, but I'm reasonably confident. We'll see.

It'll at least be nice to have some expectations for Thursday, rather than in the Winter window when we knew nothing was going on.
