Transfers Summer 2019 transfer thread

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I'm pretty sure his dream wasn't to move to ManU either, this is almost certainly Spurs trying to push this now to get some decent money in.

If his dream clubs of Madrid or Barcelona don't want to bid for him now, I'm sure we will have a contract for him to sign (possibly with a get out clause in June 2020 allowing him to go to Spain for say £65m) ... But if he doesn't want to sign not too many optios left for us. Personally would prefer him to sign the contract.

Why the fuck would Eriksen go to Utd? Win trophies? Play in the Champions League? Because of the weather? Live in the pulsing metropolitan that is Manchester? I just can't think of a reason why he would join them.

Where did I say I was unhappy?
I listed facts. Not opinions. I didn't say any of them made me happy or sad.

What has our "world class training facility" got us so far? Fuck all.
The stadium has taken 20 years to deliver. It's incredible but how much of it was necessary? It could have been delivered 10 years sooner if he didn't keep changing the plans. We could have been seeing the benefit of if for years, but we've got it just at the point where it could all go tits up now.
Eriksen was signed with Bale money.
Dele, VDV and Toby were all oportunistic buys.
Tell me a time when Levy has really broken the bank and backed a manager.
So far this window we have Ndombele. No one knows how much actually cost, but lets be generous and say £60m
We've sold Trippier and Jansen for £30m
We still might sell Eriksen, Alderwiereld and Rose.
Lets see how much Levy has spent by the time all the windows are shut.

Nope. Just pointing out facts. There's no meltdown. Just not living in the clouds like others.

Hoddle that got sacked by England for being a batshit mental nut job?
Seems like a totally rational appointment. Turned out exactly that way when he started lording it up with all our players and alienated the squad.
I didn't want Jol sacked for a bloke from Spain who didn't speak a word of English. It was well known the set up at Saville was more about the director of football and scouts. Ramos just picked the team on a Saturday. He was TERRIBLE.
AVB was sacked after half a season of ridicule at Chelsea.

Literally all of Levy's first choices have been dismal. Fuck knows what he asks them in his interviews. It's the fall back options that succeeded.

Pretty much, year. Every time he tried to be creative, he got it wrong. Jol and Redknapp, our only 2 decent managers prior to Poch were emergency appointments. And he sacked both to replace them with utter pillocks.

I can't help it if some people want to wander through life pretending the world is fun.

If you believe we're signing anyone before Thursday without players leaving, I think you might need help
What are you on?
The squad over the past few years has been good enough and could of and should of won

We all would like a couple more signings but you are going well over the top.
This squad has been good enough to win trophies over these past few years and for whatever reason hasn't delivered when it mattered in semi finals and finals. Is that levys fault aswell? I'm not a massive fan of his but you are going over the top with alot

Very well put ... I was trying to avoid being the sanctimonious git clearly failed, sorry ... honestly I envy the fans just starting out on their Spurs journey, just hope they have as much joy from the highs and lows that we've had the pleasure of watching .... without the bad times you can't truly appreciate the good times .... now is out time let's hope the next 48 hours don't let us down.
No apologies necessary mate, I completely understand where you're coming from.

:dierpochhug:

The transfer window always seems to bring out the worst in me personally... I can't wait for it to be over, then we can all get back to arguing about how shit Trippier Walker-Peter's was in every matchday thread.

I don't think we particularly want Eriksen to go to United, its that no one else clearly wants him. Its just one of those things where we may have to suck it up, take the reduced fee and strengthen our overall squad.

All reports seem to point to us agreeing personal terms with Lo Celso and Fernandes but not coughing up the extra bit of money to agree fees with their respective clubs.

However, time is ticking.

Depends what article you read

According to some Eriksen has had offers from other clubs but isn’t interested

I honestly can’t see him going to ManU especially with that Dick, Pogpa still there

Considering the lack of dealings so far this window I think everybody here deserves a large pat on the back for at least keeping the thread rolling along with their contributions. That is whether or not they have been incisive, thought provoking and articulately presented posts or complete and utterly negative bollocks.
You decide which category applies to yourself ;)
