Transfers Summer 2019 transfer thread

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I don't think we'll have to go begging players to join. Training ground, stadium and now CL final. That's it now, if we offer decent wages (of course not that of city, man u or pool) we have every chance of signing who we want. Its good to have Chelsea out of the picture so they can't gazzump us.

I hope poch ringfenced the money from the last two windows knowing combining it ALL will get us 2-3 top quality players rather than bargain basement.

Need a few of those commercial deals to be wrapped up, that will be the icing on the cake

He didn't play too much because at the time he was rubbish. We decided to keep him because we couldn't get a good enough fee for him, that's the reality.
In September 2017 - we are talking about 2018 after he played loads. We kept him in 2017 because we couldn't get a fee- we kept him in 2018 because he was used loads by Poch, unless there is anything to say otherwise.

Making the CL Final will definitely make us more attractive for any player that Poch may be interested in. I just don't want any mercenaries or someone after a big payday. Luckily, I think Poch also agrees with me. I could well imagine Poch would decide on someone within the first few minutes of any meeting, that's if they even get the meeting in the first place.

I guess we have to trust Poch. But, surely he and the Club can see we need to strengthen.

When I rewatched the highlights I kind of noticed he was at fault for (almost) every goal we scored.

He did a lot of good defending too during the match, and he’s only 19, but he’s being partly overhyped.

It also showed in their cup final this weekend how open their back 4 was.

Would love to have him though, but as you said still a raw diamond.

He wasn't at fault for any goal.

He has one fault, he tries to do too much because I don't think he trusts Blind or Marouzi to defend. Played alongside a quality Ch he would be unreal.

If Liverpool get him they will be impossible to beat.

He is a monster. I don't think I've seen a central defender as young as he is who is so confident, mature, motivated, skilled at defending like he has been a pro for 10 years, a massive threat in the oppostion box too, he has an unbelievable physique but is very mobile too. An absolute freak of nature and whoever gets him will be very very lucky

Right and I said Poch didn't expect to get anything out of Sissoko, that's why he was prepared to sell him.
I didn't mention a year.

Well I guess all the negative posters on here that said a year or so ago that Kane, Eriksen and indeed Poch would need to go Madrid to play in a CL final were right after all.

Transfers don't always quite go to plan !

Listened something in a podcast today that really struck me. "This win was important for Spurs in a financial point of view as well, because it put them on the radar of the best footballers now. With the New Stadium, the manager and the success that they are having, the best and most promising players from now on will say "I want to play there, I want to be a Tottenham player". The Final is massive for them in this regard as well." I was not a part of Spurs when the Rivaldo letter happened, I was only a 5 year old kid in the Balkans who had no clue what football was, but, can you imagine how far this club has come. From being refused by world-class players who were in their decline, to being a club that most promising or world-class players now want to be a part of. It's just magical.
