Transfers Summer 2019 transfer thread

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

After a whirlwind 700 odd pages this thread is now slowly coming to a grinding halt, and in similar circumstances to the rotation of the Earth, if it actually stopped I predict volcanic eruptions, tsunamis, and all round mass destruction as the locals go to war and eventually eat themselves.
:paulinhobored:

Thank buddha someone appreciates the delicate severity of the situation. :pochhail:

(Newsflash, I'll respond when I see fit.... That's how FORUMS roll.)

Do we think this summer will show or indicate the club's new strategy going forward or what Pochettino needs to see before he commits?

Not quite the same thing and one may not necessarily see additional years to the Pochettino era.

We’ll get in a few players but then it’s up to Poch to decide whether certain others are still undroppable.

Sadly, the players linked probably aren’t going to get ahead of the players who need dropping.
So while we will strengthen, I simply see plenty of rotation for Sissoko, Winks, Son and Moura, which won’t solve much.

That’s why it’s pretty important that Eriksen should be sold, because I just don’t see him being dropped. And along with Dele, they are two players who are slowly strangling us.

So no improvement in the overall level which means a reliance oh slipping standards returning to previous (unlikely) or better fortune on the injury front (still linked to maintaining form) but that's it.

I would not say Alli and Eriksen ate strangling us but I would say them not being challenged for a starting spot only works if they are brilliant and hmmm.......

He has been a great manager and I love him, but at this point it doesn't really bother me whether he stays or goes next year and for example Nuno Espirito Santo wouldn't necessarily do a worse job, Poch ain't gonna be our Sir Alex.

Poch has lost far too many semis and finals in stupid ways for big clubs to really break their necks for him. If Juve or Real really thought he was that good they would have laid the money to take him out of his contract.

He will manage a super club one day but they will not be going to him on bended knee. The lack of trophies is becoming a bigger weight around his neck with every season that passes. Like with Eriksen the manner of defeat in the CL final will linger in the memory of any suitors.

They are the absolute death of our counterattacking game
