Transfers Summer 2019 transfer thread

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

They're a bizarre little club mate. They get their joy from the shortcomings of others as that's the only joy supporting a team like them can get you. I'm more than happy taking stick from Spammers and Goons for losing in a Champions League final. Give me that all day long instead of their feeble attempt at building a football club.

Me made it to the final this time around with so much against us, no reason to look back at history and think we can't do it again. We've been growing substantially as a club over the past 5 years, we ain't the same team we were and it's down to the club to solidify that status now. We have a growing brand, booming profits and a team glittered with potential. Just got to keep positive and focus on top 4 and continuos runs into the knockout levels of Europe and we'll get our chance again. Our stock is the highest it's ever been, enjoy it and we the opportunity that comes with it even if that chance takes a couple of years to happen. The club holds a lot of cards, I just hope they see this window of opportunity and exploit it to its fullest whilst staying in line with the principles of the club.

9 of our boys made it to the semi finals of the World Cup and all of them made it to a Champions League final 9 months later, that's no coincidence even if our form has been a bit erratic.
I think the belief from getting there against all the odds will be a really good experience for the team. We would never have that we could before but we have now. Belief with ability are key.

I feel like I support a different kind of club now even after losing the final. We actually made it to the biggest club game any team can ever play, that's absolutely massive for us and the boys.

We got further than the likes of Brazil, Argentina, Germany etc in the World Cup with England and as a club our boys got further than the likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid, PSG, Juventus and beat the bookies favourites along the way not just in a one off game but over two legs.

For me the huge one was the Man City game, that was massive for us. The Ajax game was a joy that I will remember for a long time but doing Man City over two legs made the world take note of us. The way we finished that Ajax game merely solidified that across Europe and gave our boys what they richly deserved, a night playing in club footballs biggest spectacle and a medal to take home with them to relive that memory over and over again.

Whenever they need a pick me up or something to focus on now, all they need to do is look at that silver medal and focus on what it would feel like winning the gold one. Runners up in Europe, little old Tottenham who people loved mocking by saying we think we are bigger than we are. Let's see how we get on as phase two for the club under Poch commences, I fancy the club will feel they have some serious unfinished business ;)

Man all this talk of wanting to play Dele out left or right is madness. He is a CAM/Shadow Striker through and through- not fast enough to play on the wings. Dele is also nation trained, which is huge for our CL registration problems. Eriksen is not and can be safely sold.

Lo Celso is obviously talented but we aren't really the kind of team who can afford to have starter quality players backing each other up and not on the pitch. I would not want him starting over Dele centrally and am skeptical he can play to his potential out wide. He doesn't help our registration issues either. I'd rather see Sess in as a nation trained left winger and give Son a hybrid role on the left and backing up Harry.

Ndombele is a vital purchase as our CMs are simply not good enough right now. I will be pissed off if Levy doesn't pony up 45m gbp for him.

In: Ndombele, Sess
Out: Eriksen, Llorente
Just desperation to keep him in the starting 11. He will be pushed out of CAM by Lo Celso (hopefully). He can compete for a spot, perhaps that will keep him focused on his job instead of partying and his clothing company.

Well, it's a stupid question tbh. Have I seen both play? Yes. Does this make any difference? No. It would if Ihad watched every single game that featured any of these two. My sources are neither professional scout reports nor 3min highlight videos on YT. My friend is following the spanish league closely so we've had discussions about several players being tied to the PL by the media including Lo Celso. Fernandes has made himself a name in the past 2 seasons, he's not a no-name 18yo from brazil you gotta watch up in the internet anymore. And yes, stats DO matter.

How you can say Eriksen is far superior to any of these two is beyond me. He was on the way to becoming a new Modric but declined rapidly soon again. It was not a rare occasion for him to be invisible for quite a while now. He never scored any free kicks again, he fired corner after corner into the first defender and rarely gave quality assist. I remember a lot of guys on here even complaining on him or wondering whether he had his head already on madrid. Maybe he will blossom somewhere else again and I really hope for him that he does. Of course he is still a good player but surely not one that can't be replaced in his current form with a good transfer.
Thanks for confirming.

Sissoko keeping NDombele out of the France team.

Based on this season, we’re not playing with wide men anymore, Poch used a 4-4-2 diamond/4-3-1-2 or a box midfield so both can play centrally.

Against Nicaragua Lo Celso seemed to play on the wing in the first half and more as a CM in the 2nd half, and I guess that versatility is an attraction to Poch who like players who can play in different positions.

If we got Lo Celso, NDombele and Sessegnon with Eriksen going ours options looks like

AM : Lo Celso, Dele, Son
Sessegnon, Lamela, Moura

CM's : NDombele Winks
Sissoko, Dier, Wanyama
Skipp, Amos

So lots of formations available, and maybe we might sell a CM (injury prone Wanyama possibly being the most likely) as much to ensure we keep within the 17 overseas trained player rule. Its not beyond the bounds of possibility that we sign Fernandes which would increase options in the starting X1 , but in that case I'd guess that the injury prone Lamela might be moved on.

Either way I see both our starting X1 and our squad being strengthened in both CM and AM areas.

Would absolutely love to see either fekir or Isco, fuck even both, in spurs shirts next season. Signing those two would be a proper statement of intent
