All this talk of LoCelso and Fernandes at 60/70m, if we'd got our shit together we could have had Brandt for 20m who could have covered that 8/AM remit.

I wish we'd just get a couple of proper 6 or 6/8's sorted now before fucking about on anything else . Diawara and Ndombele would be nice, but if not we need to move early and go after alternatives like Kessie, Weigle, Rabiot, Maxi Lopez, Aouar

I'm not averse to the idea of LoCelso, liked him a lot at PSG, but if we are looking at him as a kind of Lamela replacement, I'd hope - if we are chucking serious money - we would also be looking at Pepe or Fekir for that kind of attacking left footed, right sided - also can play as forward - remit.

Liverpool have chased both and offered neither of them more than 100k pw I've read.

As long as we get 2/3 proper midfielders first. Got to be the priority.

Diawara (Weigle), Ndombele (Kessie), (Rabiot)Lopez, (Pepe)Fekir, Sessegnon, Atal (?) - would be my ideal window.

Outs: TA, Eriksen, Sissoko, Lamela, Trippier (if we are going to keep KWP), Aurier (if we get Atal in), Wanyama, Llorente, Janssen, Nkoudou,

Brandt wanted to stay in Germany.

So unless you could persuade Levy to pick the stadium up and move it to Germany, Brandt was never coming to Spurs. And given the furore when Spurs were rumoured to be going to move to Stratford your life wouldn't be safe if you suggested moving the stadium to Germany !

Really cannot see 3 'proper' midfielders coming to us, perhaps 2 plus Sessegnon, simply because we need to fill other holes in squad/freshen up other areas. And I cannot see more than 4 first teamers arrive plus a youngster or two (Sessegnon, Clarke ?)

One of them looks to be Lo Celso, based upon considerable coverage and ITK.

I wonder if the press coverage of Bruno Fernandes is actually created by an Agent trying to push his price up as recent articles suggest ManU, Liverpool and ourselves are in a very open (ie public) race. And that rarely if ever happens - lots of press speculation of Club X is interested in Player Y, and claims of X has bid £zm, but not a blow by blow account as is happening with Fernandes. So I'm a bit sceptical of our real interest in Fernandes atm.

Rabiot is certainly not coming

But I've not heard of any heavily rumoured other midfielders (beyond the usual clickbait), except perhaps Diawara (and that's been pretty muted ). Have you ?

Pretty much all the rumours so far have been of midfielders - I expect this to change to a Llorente replacement at some stage, but that might be either a 'clever target man' or a winger/striker, the latter of course might give you another AM like player.

The season has only been finished a week. Poch is still on holiday in Spain and a lot of players are on international duty.

Poch and Levy still have their meeting to discuss the next 5 year project as well as incoming and outgoings. I'd imagine it'll be at least 10 days until we see any kind of movement. Levy will know the u21 European Championships and Copa America could drive up prices of targets so Poch will be keen to get these deals done early.

The problem with Ajax players is the price they will now command , De Jong and Deligt looked destined to reach the top , the others I'm not so sure about for the money they'd go for , Van de Beek looks an excellent player but so does Tadic in an Ajax shirt.
That’s the downside to them doing so well in the CL this season, they are well known now and they are hot property......
The other problem is, and not just for these players at Ajax, we are in the market for similar players to Barca, Real, Man Utd, Man City, Chelsea (Ban pending) Woolwich (funds depending) and even Liverpool will show interest in one or two big signings.......

If we don’t get in quickly for our top targets (assuming any of these are even targets) we will be looking at Plan B’s yet again🙄

An update on players signed by other PL clubs :

ManU - Daniel James £15m
Bournemouth - Lloyd Kelly £11m
West Ham - A couple of Free transfers
Everton - one free transfer
Others - Nada

So looks like we could be in good company atm.

I think what many of us want is a clear sign that this summer will be different to last few. We want to know poch is being backed, with funds, and our preferred targets are being pursued hard to get deals complete early and before pre season rather than delayed chasing the last couple of £m out. We know we won't get every deal done perfectly, some won't go our way, but let's see a change in modus operandi.... Please.

I'm not...i'd go for Tielemans out of the two 100%.
Obviously!

They are the same age but Tielemans already played 100 more games on senior level. Did well with Anderlecht in the CL against Woolwich and Dortmund, proved himself in the Premier League already and already played 25 games for Belgium as opposed to VD Beek who only played around 10 for Holland.

It's a no brainer for me!

Also, Tielemans is very humble guy. Seems to very in similar in his philosophy to the likes of Kompany, Vertonghen, Dembélé,...
