Jack Clarke - 1/2 (Favourites)
Ryan Sessegnon - 2/5 (Favourites)

That is fucking rich stuff right here.

I am generally lost for words that there would be ANY fans among us who would think like that.
We all saw the transformation that Sissoko has had current season... and then to have audacity to come out and say that Alli had a weak season, we should ship him as this is how he is now (and there is no way that this trend could turn, right?!?)

I mean literally - a really limited player made us eat humble pie just recently and then when technically really good player slips a bit we are calling for his head?!? I mean we all know how good Alli can be. It is extremely unlikely that we would be able to attract better player than he in his prime. But there is quite a strong possibuility that we could waste like 60 mil trying to do so.

I agree - he had weak season.
And I agree he should have bit more competition in the team - we should work on that as well.

But some here have suggested to axe him for good - with that I cannot agree. Club like Real could afford such turns. We can't.
Don't really have a problem with much of what you said here. And though you never stated this i would just like to be clear that my point was that he should not be an unquestioned starter. I would like to see his efforts with some competition in the squad.

What I will wholeheartedly disagree with is your assertion that Dele is a 'technically really good player'. I cannot disagree with this enough. Flicks and attempted tricks does not constitute a technically good players. His technique has been letting him down since day 1. Do you not remember the missed goal from 2 yards at Stoke? That was brutal but it wasn't the only failing of his technique. His many, many bumbled touches and inability to actually hit a ball has broken down many a move.

Christian Eriksen is an accomplished technical player. Eden Hazard is an accomplished technical player. David Silva, Bernardo, etc. These are players with reliable touches and passing. Dele is one step above Sissoko in technical ability IMO. And this is the reason that I don't have a higher ceiling for him than what we have already seen. He just doesn't have the reliable technique to be tactically flexible IMO.

Levy and ENIC will never change, we are going to end up losing Poch because of them and their lack of ambition and investment in the football side of things, mark my words.

Trying to turn this club into an entertainment venue rather than a sporting giant that wins trophies.

I hope I am wrong but my gut is telling me we will all be dissapointed come the end of this window.

Typical fucking yank. The usual intellectual comeback. We've been at this game for 600 years. Of course we know more than you. Are you a complete moron?
Not sure whose multi you are but, I really don't need to justify my appreciation and knowledge of the game to some keyboard warrior that will probably threaten to come to my house and beat me up, or gut me, or the like. You can take your 600 years worth of knowledge of the game and fuck yourself with them.

I'm done with you... No sense arguing with a multi.

Levy only sees receipts, not football. Hopefully Poch will stay.

Surely persuading Brandt to come to England wouldn't have been out of the question? I mean, with a transfer fee of 22m we could have offered a pretty good wage package?

Yes, it was out of the question. He's young, Dortmund and Bayern are massive clubs who both wanted him and by picking Dortmund he gets to stay near home (it's 75km from Leverkusen to Dortmund, hell he might not even change house), speaking his mother tongue, etc.

Very few top German players want to leave Germany. It's always been that way.

I'm a 67 year old doctor. I represent no physical threat and if you end up in my ER, I'll do everything I can to help you. Why can't we just disagree but support the greatest team of all time? BTW, what's a multi?

I live in the States unfortunately and I've discovered they know everything about everything, even when they don't, I mean what other country has at its helm a racist, narcissistic , misogynistic moron who's so stupid he thinks the queen runs the country. Perhaps after he's impeached and then released from prison for all his fraudulent dealings, he can manage the US football team. But no Mexican or Central American players. Only WASPs.

We are about to have thrust upon us an equally incompetent moron!

My favourite Dele goal.

I get that people are frustrated with him, but he’s absolute quality. Just because Poch is playing the golden child out of position (out of necessity) shouldn’t detract from what a massive talent he is. I honestly despair of some of our fans, and then you get sammyspurs sammyspurs quoting 365 articles that back up his argument to his absolute glee. Sammy is clearly more bothered about Sammy being right than Spurs - and I never thought I’d say that.

That’s a ridiculous statement.
I could pick any game, literally any game of at least 60+ minutes, from the last 4 years and show at least 5 times where his technical ability let him down. So no I don't think this is a ridiculous statement.

Are you saying you wouldn’t persist with a young player who can do this?

That was 3.5 seasons ago. That was a great moment but I am not impressed by that as a measure of technical ability. So I ask you this, and if you answer you will be the first, tell me one thing that Dele has improved on since the first time you saw him in a Spurs' kit. How is he a player any different than the player we saw heading in that last minute goal at Leicester? Like Raheem Sterling can now shoot, take FKs, and hit the ball with his left foot when previously he was just a dribbler. Like how Harry added improved hold-up play, distribution, and back to goal interplay to his game year on year. Even Sonny's touch which was super wonky in his first year got much more assured in the next two (kinda deserted him in the last 3-4 months though). What has Dele improved?

When you find the difficulty in answering that question then you will know why I don't hold out hope that he will improve.

Free him from his defensive responsibilities and you will see this player again.
That's a statement of no real value though isn't it? It stands to reason that if you free any player from defensive responsibilities they will become more productive in goals and assists right? If Julian Brandt was in that position with no defensive responsibilities he would have doubled Dele's numbers. Imagine Hazard in that position. Imagine any player you can with better technical ability than Dele in that position with little defensive responsibility and they would produce more. The only thing they may not get is backpost headers.

Again, if this occurs and we see an uptick in production he would still be a player whose position would only be justified by production. I would prefer a more consistent performer in the team that aids the build-up play as well as goals. If Dele improves his overall game and becomes that person I will be singing about the 5 mill too. But if he remains that guy that can't be trusted to play anywhere outside of hanging around Harry then I wouldn't mind seeing someone else given a chance.

Sigh. This is going to be a very long summer!

Some are already melting, others think they're on the Spurs scouting team and quite a few are merely here for the cunt offs.

I think I'll stick to the Brexit thread, far more friendly and much less argumentative by comparison!

I don't expect to see 3 CM's coming in either it was just my "ideal window" as I said.

What I do expect is two CM's and maybe a player like Lo Celso who can play as an 8 or as an AM. If not, and we are going into next season with Sissoko and/or Dier as a CM I will be fucking disappointed.

Why is Rabiot certainly not coming ? I thought we'd tried to get him, made him an offer? He's yet to go anywhere, so why is it a certainty ? Last I heard he was talking to Everton?

As far as other positions go I've seen loads of rumours, hard to know what are just bullshit and what are genuine, as said, the list I gave was just a reasonably realistic wish list.

As I said Brandt wanted to stay in Germany. Wages not the issue.

3 CM's - WTF ? 2 CM's is possible but I could live with one minimum, depends what Poch is going to do with Skipp and Amos.

Rabiot has a very forceful agent and publicity machine, hence only 6 caps for France at age 24 but better known than most French internationals. Total opposite personality traits to a Spurs team player, just cannot the prima donna fitting in.

If you've seen lots of rumours, why not include Messi as well ? ATM, he's been more rumoured to come to Spurs than VDV was at 18.00 on the last night of the TW when he arrived !

No point in just posting a wish list, its only useful/informative/challenging to others if the list is of players who have been linked tom Spurs (although always a 1% chance of a Messi or VDV).

Free him from his defensive responsibilities and you will see this player again.

Andros Townsend won goal of the last season

Of course Dele is superior in every way but I think most people are frustrated that he seems to be drifting and not improving like he should be. That goal was 3.5 years ago and tbh he hasn't got anywhere near to scoring a goal similar since that one.

I almost got excited by those odds until I saw Perisic.
:pochunimpressed:

Then again, 6/1 ain't so hot so I'm guessing we're 'favourites' only by virtue of no other club looking in for him either.
