Transfers Summer 2019 transfer thread

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

IF he comes here I expect him to be competing with Winks and Sissoko, while being ahead of Dier and Big Vic in the picking order (not assuming any other player that can come to us i.e Ndombele or Lo Celso or that can leave us i.e Big Vic)

As per my earlier posts..... Just begs the question if he's that guy then where's the wisdom in blowing prime dosh on N'Dombele too.

I'd rather add a bit of beef (a #6 - eg that Diarwa fella) rather than overstock on #8s.

(I suspect Big Vic is done sadly. Look at how he could barely walk after the Ajax victory.... Reckon those few cameos he he made at the end of the season he was high as fuck on pain jabs.)

... Has a cash plus player deal actually ever happened in real life ?!
Zlatan Ibrahimovic signs five-year deal at Barcelona. The Sweden striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has signed a five-year contract at Barcelona in a deal equivalent to a €66m (£57m) transfer from Internazionale, which includes Samuel Eto'o moving in the opposite direction

This is a big problem in football these days. Too many young players are being overhyped after one or two good seasons and then get linked with mega money moves to bigger clubs. It's ridiculous and dangerous
It's not the hype as such more that English clubs don't want to or need to sell so you have to pay a fortune to get them... The hype follows the fee, even now he should be 20m and probably would be in any other league

Whaddaya say kiddies?

N'Dombele
Ceballos
GLC

or

Ceballos
Diarwa
Coutinho

?????
N'Dombele is just too good to let go. Also, Coutinho is a luxury player like James Rodriguez. An excellent luxury player, but we are not a team like Real Madrid, Man Utd or PSG that just go after "superstars" or "galacticos", so I don't think he would be a good fit for us. Besides, a midfield that consists of N'Dombele, Lo Celso, Ceballos, Winks and Sissoko is just the stuff of dreams for me (even though from what I've seen, I wouldn't be surprised if Moussa ended up in a RB role for us, since he has shown he is more than capable of playing there)

63 million for Ndombele?

Just saw some basic stuff on transfermarkt and with some basic calculations, if we get close to a - 80M£ + Eriksen net spend for GLC, N'Dombele and Ceballos, that would be a hell of a window. Of course all of this is hypothetical, but I wouldn't be suprised if this guy:levywhoa: would be able to do it.

Ceballos can go fuck himself somewhere else. Nasty unrepentant bigoted twitter thug.

On a maybe prejudiced level, he's from southern Spain, not the sort I see doing well in England. Basques and Catalans, other northern Spanish, even Madrileños tend to fare better. And I just don't like him.

Of course if he signs for us I will 180º on all these opinions and welcome him as my Andalusian lilywhite brother

Does anyone want to sign Kovacic at all?

I kinda feel about Kovacic the way I feel about Sarri and that Chavs season in general. It seemed all along that they were just a laughable disaster no different from Man U, but then you look up and they finished ahead of us and won a European trophy, a campaign in which Kovacic was low-key kinda integral.

I'd have a cheeky punt. They'd probably sell him for nothing.

Not just English clubs though. For example Lyon and Betis are demanding unreal sums for Ndombele and Lo Celso who are young and only had a just over a season of performing consistently well. 60-75 mill each? Bonkers

Think we looked at him before and were not impressed.

Much prefer to get an all cash offer and spend money as we want - better value to buy Nabil Bentaleb for 25m ( Club trained player with more experience than Ceballos, knows PL Poch, Kane and other players so less/ no integration time) IF we want an extra CM ( but that needs to be our choice not RMs). Bentaleb much better value to Spurs

That deal implies a cash value of about 45m + for Ceballos, so a big NO from me as he's just not worth that to us.

Also that amount of cash might put in jeopardy other transfer s in - much prefer to get higher quality than Ceballos like Lo Celso

Madrid want rid of him as they have to many CMs and are trying to offload the worst to us.

Yeah, I really don't like the cut of his jibe.

If we're looking at players Real would realistically be willing to use as a makeweight, we should ask for Marcos Llorente instead.

Much more the type of midfielder we need than Ceballos.

If it’s £40m they are bidding and we are selling Trippier I would hope we would maybe place a bid, really impressive player.

Got to be honest, he looks a bit like another Walker to me. Good physical attributes, not sure about the mental ones. Quick, strong (possibly a better defender - or more composed defender - than Walker at the same stage) but not really clever or composed when he gets forward and that's a huge part of what we want - or what the very best FB's - can do in a team like ours. Think I'd prefer to take a punt on Atal or just give KWP some more game time than spend 50m on AWB.

If you liked Walker, then you'll probably like AWB, I was never as big a fan of Walker as many were. I think AWB looks less prone to some of the idiotic things Walker used to do, and Poch can probably work on him, but not sure he's ever going to be great in the final third.

There is this one game where we end up winning against Chelsea. While we are 2-0 up, Kovacic did this ridiculous rabona cross that end up nowhere.
Thats when i know for sure he wont gets anywhere.

How the tables have turned -

Woolwich have like us been watching Joachim Andersen for ages they thought they could sneak in with a bid, turns out he would rather wait for a "big club" to make an approach. We are waiting for Toby to make up his mind, seems Joachin is prepared to wait for us rather than go to Woolwich ... regardless of how it plays out, that's just funny.

First post here... 'allo to all.

This thread has been an interesting read, I think there are some valid perspectives presented here

With all this talk of record signings, I cant help but think many here are underestimating the raw power of Levy's infamous sphincter muscle, and its omnipresent influence. In my opinion, without the sale of Eriksen, we will be very lucky if we see more than one major signing this window.

Levy and Aulas will sword fight over Ndombele till the bitter end.

Meanwhile, any chance of Lo Celso deal will hinge on the sale of Eriksen, and I cant help but feel that this will take so long that it will rule out any chance of this actually happening, especially with Man U allegedly sniffing the peripherals.

With all this considered, I think the best we can hope for over this window would be Ndombele, Sessegnon and Jack Clarke In.

Think we're all underrating Ceballos ... once again given the chance he's looking fabulous in the under 21's competition ... Zidane never gave him a chance at Real, once he left Ceballos played regularly under Lopetegui, only for Zidane to drop him like a hot spud (pun intended) as soon as he returned.

At just 22 if we can get him plus 60m for Eriksen I reckon that's a pretty good deal ... that pays for Ndombele and adds much needed depth ... not to mention next year that means we'd have swapped out one out of contract no value 28 year old, for two long contract 23 year olds, both with potentially huge re-sale value ... we are Yids after all.
