Transfer window roundup...

Vorm -> New keeper (We've not been linked with a goalie although we have signed a young keeper (16yo))

Dembele -> New centre mid (We've been linked with NDombele although Onomah returns from shef wed)

N'Jie -> New forward (We've been heavily linked with Clarke from Leeds)

Is Eriksen leaving? (we've been linked with Lo Celso)

If Alderweireld leaves (he said he expects to still be here next season, we've been linked with Andersen and Carter-Vickers returns from swansea)

Trippier has said he doesn't know if he'll be here next season (we've been loosely linked with Wan Bissaka and Atal)

Rose has said it might be time to move on (we've been linked with Sessengon)

Wanyama looks like we've broken him (we haven't been linked to a dm, talk of Diawara, Skipp will be a year older)

Llorente is 34? (we haven't been linked with a forward, loose talk of Adams) We have signed a young striker. Parrot has signed a new contract.

If they think Alfie Whiteman could come off the bench in the Premier League then we don't need to spend on a 3rd goalkeeper.

There's a lot of value to be milked out of these sorts of deals if you're the right sort of club with excellent scouting and a flexible manager (not sure we have either, no slight on Poch). The super clubs are really, really motivated to move their dead weight and keep the books balanced, and there are good players in there.

I know nothing about Ceballos though.

It's this a way to cheat FFP rules also? RM buys Eriksen for 200M and we buy Isco for 160M. FFP sorted, only 40M exchanged owners.

No, in fact its probably detrimental as the revenues can be realised immediately but purchases can be amortised over the length of a contract.

It helps Madrid obviously as they need to sell but putting him in a deal rather than selling elsewhere outright adds no benefit.

See where you're coming from but it all depends on the asset value on the books, for us Eriksen is probably fully depreciated so we would be 'adding' 160m to our asset value plus 40m in cash ... we could account for that over 50 years at 40m a year ... that would be our FFP increase.

As we have increased our income via gate receipts, TV revenue, advertising, merchandising all of which qualify under FFP rules, we have something like 140m a year in our back pocket ... in theory we could buy three players for 450m amortize that over five years, increase our salary spend by 50m a year, and we'd still be safely within FFP rules ...

Kinda why we spent a billion quid on infrastructure (which is exempt under FFP) ... that's called playing the system something we're very good at ...

Ceballos can go fuck himself somewhere else. Nasty unrepentant bigoted twitter thug.

On a maybe prejudiced level, he's from southern Spain, not the sort I see doing well in England. Basques and Catalans, other northern Spanish, even Madrileños tend to fare better. And I just don't like him.

Of course if he signs for us I will 180º on all these opinions and welcome him as my Andalusian lilywhite brother
What's wrong with southern Spain, Bill?!!

I see what you mean by adapting badly though. Reyes comes to mind
