I know very little about Jack Clark (except the obligatory youtube and what I've read) and he seems to have potential -and I don't mind that we invest in cheap potential - but I find it a little disappointing that we seem to prefer small investment potential than development of our own academy potential - when we have players already here with that potential in similar positions/remits.

Why pay 14m for a kid from Leeds who's made a handful of appearances in the championship before giving Marcus Edwards (or even Shashoua or Markandy) a fair crack and some minutes. Could then have chucked that 14m (and associated wages) onto the Ndombele deal to make sure we get it done a bit earlier?
Danny Rose, Aaron Lennon ... Leeds young players have done well for us.

I'd be disappointed if we agreed to a Eriksen <-> Ceballos swap, he's pretty average imo. Give us Asensio, pay a shitload of money or fek off. Since there's no news for our (so called) main targets, there's suddenly all sorts of rumours to the italian league spreading.. apparently we're interested in some guy from Sampdoria and some AS Roma players (Lorenzo Pellegrini & Nicolo Zaniolo). Totti is blaming the executives for trying to sell homegrown players though.

If Ceballos is surplus at Madrid just buy him, I think he would really do well under Poch.

Aside from a few nice goals, Asensio has been so underwhelming. Think he’s another product of the Real hype machine.

I agree, youngsters going to Madrid (even worse when they're coming from their own academy) are labeled "new messi" as soon as they put their pen to the paper. Still I see more talent and potential in Asensio than in Ceballos. Overall I'd prefere Eriksen to stay if he manages to get his full focus on this team and finds a way back to his best. He just didn't seem fully committed recently.

Asensio is a winger and Eriksen more of a central attacking mid so it is a bit of a apples and oranges equation as well.

Asensio would be more comparable to Son in that he uses speed and a dribble to break the line rather than creative passing like Christian.

I'm just talking about the equality of player value, not considering Asensio a direct Eriksen replacement.
