So if Rabiot ends up at Juventus it's safe to say they're out of the running for Pogba, leaving Real Madrid a free crack at him should they broker a deal with Man U.

Real Madrid will need a backup to Pogba should he not sign which seems like it could be either Ndombele or Eriksen. Eriksen has apparently rejected Man U which kind of sees Eriksens only options at present being Real Madrid or Spurs.

PSG apparently prefer Allan so they're out of the Ndombele race which kind of leaves Real Madrid, Man U and Spurs the only genuine options.

What a fucking merry go round this window could be. Hand on heart if I see no outgoings and just Ndombele come in I think I'd take that with how it stands. I'd prefer more but if we can start the season with both Ndombele and Eriksen Spurs players and both signed up I think it's a big piece in our long term jigsaw. So much seems to depend on Real Madrid but if Rabiot ends up at Juve I think it's a pretty big step in the right direction for us.

That scenario plays out very well - Rabiot was always going to be a risk so probably best avoided - Ndombele is a no brainer if we can get him, then keeping Eriksen / selling and replacing Eriksen becomes an either or, obviously depends who we replace him with but I reckon there are a few options there ... just need Toby to make up his mind so we know what we're doing at the back ...

Based on reports, which I know we can’t trust, it seems like we want Lo Celso and NDombele no matter who leaves. If Eriksen leaves then we want Bruno on top of the other two.

I think that’s me being optimistic but that’s how the reports are wording things recently.

Don't forget that Man City look to have signed their main CM target in Rodri and Atletico Madrid have probably blown their load on Joao Felix.

I'm still absolutely terrified of this all going tits up, but there are some definite reasons to be optimistic at the moment.

Regarding Eriksen: none of us on here know what the fuck is going on behind the scenes (i.e. whether his 'if no one comes in for me then I could sign a new contract' sentiment is true) but if there's a risk of him going for free in a year then he needs selling somewhere - not least because he'll end up spending another season underperforming while his future is up in the air. If he went out and Lo Celso came in sooner rather than later, it would allow Levy and co. to focus on the Toby and Trippier situations fully.
