Transfers Summer 2019 transfer thread

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

If him and Toby signed new contracts and we didn't sign anyone, the press would go batshit.

"WHY WONT SPURS JUST FOLLOW THE TRANSFER NARRATIVES HUH HUH HUH"

Can se Nicholson at 365 and the other blogging wankers interupting their reach-arounds just briefly enough to move focus to "OHhhhhh Poch not happy with squad"

Klopp & Sarri both got a trophy last season.

Buckle up for "Poch MUST win a trophy with OR without Spurs" being the go-to line this year.

Side-stepping any potential Lamela pissing contest.... I think in terms of number of bodies, as per your scenario, Lamela should stay.

Agreed mate. If we ship Llorente off and choose to bring in an AM o fill his squad place, I would definitely keep Lamela on as he seems content to be a squad player, even when he is fit! :pochshock:

Dele, Eriksen, Lo Celso, Lucas, Lamela, Son & Kane for me. Give me that over a backup striker so we can utilise Lucas and Sonny as and when every day of the week as it will keep all of them sweet and also give the boy Parrott a genuine path into the first team should he progress how we hope he will.

I rate Lo Celso, I think he has all the natural attributes I associate with a Tottenham player but for a rumoured £70m-£80m or whatever his release clause is, absolutely no chance it's too much money for someone who hasn't achieved a lot to date.

I would 100% take him but my limit is closer to £55m more than it is £70m-£80m, that's an insane amount of money for someone with one full season of European football under his belt. The 20% sell on clause will probably prove to be a big issue as selling teams get greedy but rightly so.
Even at 55mil if he flops you’ve got to try and flog him back to the continent with prem sized wages

Got to be 20 off the asking price right away

This Ndombele people seem more convinced there is a ‘guarantee’ even at stronger money

I’d be happy to not gamble 55mil on a maybe

Meaning he's be no use to us for a year then leave for nothing....

Where's the upside in that????
There is none but I don't think it will come to that, this is his chance to leave this season. He will go to a bigger club than us, but if bigger clubs than us don't want him, he will stay. He has said so himself.
"If I have to go, then hopefully it will be a step up,"
"If nothing pops up that is more exciting, then why not stay in Tottenham? If I then sign a new contract, it depends on the conditions."
I have confidence he will be committed to the cause.

Let's say, for arguments sake, that's £140m for those two. Then a new right back for, I don't know, £30m? Then a new third keeper and a replacement for llorente. Rose says he sees himself moving on this summer so say another £30m for the left back.

Can you see where this is going?

If we spend £50m all summer I'd be surprised. I'm basing that on the comments from both our manager and chairman.

Lo Celso underwhelming again:

I think we're paying over the odds for the guy. His long range passing is simply appalling. I've barely seen him hit a good one. He dribbles well and has got a decent shot on him. 30 million and we've got a decent upgrade on Lamela. He's basically Lamela-plus. But 60 odd million? No way.

I get what your saying but everybody for argentina looks terrible though. Aguero, messi, etc. Lo Celso was extremely good at betis this year

But you said "That's one positive from the final then" (in ref to RM not being interested).

That's not commitment... FAR from it.

You mind your missus 'keeping her options open' too?

Like your previous comment; your faith is baseless.

"If nothing pops up that is more exciting, then why not stay in Tottenham? "

Not even saying he WOULD stay in that scenario....

"If I then sign a new contract, it depends on the conditions."

...And re-signing is even less likely.
