A healthy Lamela would be like a brand new signing!!!!!!

But history would suggest chances are slim

Nor Wanyama, nor GKN, nor Jansen, nor Onomah...

.....Would rather they all left ahead of Erik.

Shame about Wanyama, 2 seasons ago he was one of the best DM’s around then he got injured and since he came back it’s like his legs don’t work, I do wonder if he would even pass a medical at another club.

Something is very wrong with him, you don’t lose all that talent without their being some major underlying reason.

Yeah but Lamela should also go. But he’s not the worst of the bunch.

Lamela is a good player and the most like for like we have with Eriksen, but he is simply too injury prone for us, he can never build up his form.

I remember in season past against the likes of City he would be our best player and his pressing was great, don’t think his body can handle that now.

If he does stay I would love him to have one injury free season.

Said yesterday... Sadly, he's fucked.

Guy couldn't walk come final whistle in Amsterdam... Likely playing with major pain killer jabs in those last few cameos...

Wouldn't surprise me if he had been playing with a problem in his knee for years and just played through it thinking it was nothing or something very minor. Clearly there's a big problem there as even physically, he looks like he's had to lose a lot of upper body muscle too, probably to keep as much pressure off his knee as possible.

Just totally bizarre how he went from being up there with Kante as one of the best in the league, to looking like an old codger playing in a testimonial in the space of one Summer.

Lamela will give us a few good performances per season if we're lucky.
He runs around kicking people with both feet, yet can only kick the ball with one.
As likeable as he is with his 'derby day attitude' - in my opinion this is the kind of squad player we really need to improve on to make a step to the next level.
He wouldnt even get to sit on Man Citys bench, and basically they are the level our fans are expecting us to reach - as evidently 2nd - 4th is not good enough.

His knees have gone, clear for all to see.

He hasn't looked overtly committed this year for starters.... Particularly not when he's content to stir the post on the eve of the biggest single game of our and his history.

His form also fell off a cliff last time it was contract time too.
He's got 10 goals and 12 assists this season which isn't bad for a committed player let alone an uncommitted one.

Sorry, I just sense someone happy to be walked over cos the player is 'worth it'.

IF RM don't call
Then MAYBE I'll stay
BUT only IF....
IF not, I'll walk for free next summer and coin it in.

Fuck that... No-one's bigger than the shirt.
I don't think that he thinks that he is bigger than the shirt, I think he just wants to get the best for himself as anyone would and I'm confident that Poch knows what he's doing in regards to Eriksen.

Yeah he was great two seasons ago as well. At the last season at the lane. But he simple can’t stay fit. We are too big now to have passengers in the squad who ain’t fit all the time. It’s a spot we could improve. The old Lamela ain’t coming back

Agree. Eriksen can fuck right off. Its a shame because my kid wears 23 because of him.

Major knee issues IMO.

So you're telling me that Lamela couldn't take the place of someone like Mahrez or Origi? He is more than good enough as an impact sub and he has proven that he does accept that role here. We can't find a ton of players with Erics quality that will accept to sit on the bench most of the time...

Because he's simply not of the same quality. A better direct replacement for Eriksen would be a player like Maddison.

Shifting Lamela, Janssen, N'kodou and replacing them with Lo Celso, Clarke and Sessegnon would be good business.
The beauty of Lo Celso is he is more of a CM that can play an attacking role as he did with Betis this year. I'd much rather have him then Maddison personally but its just a matter of opinion. I'd imagine it would take even more money to get Maddison than lo celso though but that is just speculation

It'd be dumb to let Eriksen run his contract down and leave on a free, no doubt about that.
Would love to see Levy and co offer him a 2 year deal giving him another year to play for us and sell himself.
If not, I guess we'll have to try and create a market for him.

If he stays, I'd love to see us go after Sessegnon. Lamela looks like he might never get fit and in form again.
If Eriksen goes, I'd hope we can pick up Lo Celso and Sessegnon.
