Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

When he joined we weren't in the champions league, we had only qualified the one time, top players want to play at the highest level they can. We the fans are ready to move on a player at the drop of hat, no matter what years of service he has given, so why can't a player consider his options and get the best deal he can?
One season Jansen had before he was deemed surplus to requirements, so there was no loyalty to him there.
By your logic his opinions won’t have changed. Sure we have been in the CL for a couple years but we have won fuck all. He wants to go somewhere he is guaranteed a few trophy’s, real/Barca or maybe PSG.

His opinions have been constant through out, by your own logic if he wants to play at the top level, then he doesn’t think he can do so here, and he wants to leave. So let him!

I have no interest in holding on to a player like him through default, just because real won’t stump up the money. We need committed quality players to usher us in to this “new project” Poch keeps mentioning.

His comments prove he is NOT committed, so why should we do anything other than sell him?

It's not about whether he wants out, it's the manner you go about it that peeps object to.

You've clearly got your fingers wedged in your ears on this one.

"Isn't bad" - Pardon me for not getting too excited....

Hardly a shop window season.

And, I repeat "Particularly not when he's content to stir the post on the eve of the biggest single game of our and his history"
He's the 4th highest scorer in the team 5 behind Lucas, maybe you could argue that he should be the third highest scorer in the team, but I think that would be harsh

I meant you were excusing him in such a manner.

In terms of CE s conduct; I accept business is business; but this doesn't mean there aren't certain codes of conduct that amount to integrity and respect.
What codes and conduct are those?
I mean I understand the upset at him leaving but he's no Sol Campbell as far as I'm concerned.

Not quite a comparable. Ok we get rid of Lamela but he is a like for like for Eriksen in our squad, if you are talking wide forward attackers like Son, Lucas and perhaps Sessegnon that’s a different type of player.

We sell Lamela the funds should be used for Lo Celso or Fernandes.

Lamela is not even 80% the same type of player as Eriksen.

He should be compared to but is not as good as Mahrez for example.

Why, not taking about quality here but roles, both Eriksen and Lamela as players try to create opportunities for other players, Mahrez and Son by contrast are more goal scoring wide forwards. I am not comparing quality rather their job in the team.

Irrelevant.... Was he below par or wasn't he?

Explain to me why it doesn't bother you that he was actively pulling strings for a transfer when he should have been focussed on winning the CL...

Like Walker (when in a title race!).... Next thing we'll hear is that he's leaving to win trophies.

Fuck that shit!

Maybe (truly!) consider everything I've already put to you. I've answered that in spades already

If you still don't get it we can resume this.

I put it to you that you don't.... I haven't seen anyone say they're angry purely on the basis he's wants to leave (see above para).

A bit more than that we've been in the final this year Barca blew their chance to be in the final and so did PSG, we have a stable manager and not a joke like Sherwood.

He's a quality player, so the question is he committed, I think if he stays he will be committed more than I trust in Poch. If he didn't think Eriksen was committed he wouldn't have played and he'd be doing everything to get rid of him. He isn't doing any of those things though, he knows the player better than any of us do.

Lo Celso underwhelming again:

I think we're paying over the odds for the guy. His long range passing is simply appalling. I've barely seen him hit a good one. He dribbles well and has got a decent shot on him. 30 million and we've got a decent upgrade on Lamela. He's basically Lamela-plus. But 60 odd million? No way.

Rule No 1. NEVER let an individual's international performances be the measure of how good/bad a player can be. Argentina is currently and has been miss managed for year after year after year.

Giovani Dos Santos was a God of football when he donned his country's shirt. Messi fails to show up in an Argentina shirt. I don't know if this guy is any good or not but wouldn't make any judgement on him at all when he plays for his country.

Can I ask how you know that Poch isn’t doing everything he can to get rid of him?

These comments came out after the CL final so whether he played or not is irrelevant.

Shame he had his head elsewhere when it came to the crunch game tho eh?????

(Apparently you have no desire to address this matter tho.)

......How the hell do you know?

Maybe we've been hoping RM will meet our asking price?

Maybe we're shopping him around to other clubs as we speak?

No it's not irrelevant, his goals helped us qualify for next season's CL. He was below par by his own high standards but I still appreciate the job he's done for the team.

I'm not bothered because I'm not holding to a different standard than other people who work. There are millions of people who, when they are at work are committed and work hard but at the same time look for a more forfilling job with higher pay, benefits etc. He has given 6 years service, I'm pleased with that service,.

Ok I guess it's to do with him speaking in the media about his contract situation. So on that basis what do you make of Poch's conduct, with what he's said about the transfers and 'going home' if he win the champions league.
I put it to you that you don't.... I haven't seen anyone say they're angry purely on the basis he's wants to leave (see last para).
It's certainly part of it, because no one likes to see quality players leaving the club, no one minds if shit players do.

We signed Sissoko off the back of a good Euros... Took another 2 years to wrench such performances out of him.
