What do Juventus see that I don't see? He was great at the world cup but has had a topsy turvy season.

Tottenham expect Juventus to make a bid for right-back Kieran Trippier, 28, and are willing to sell the England international for around £25m. (Telegraph)

507 days and counting now since our last signing...

At Juventus he will be playing in a side that dominates 90% of it's games ... a bit like Walker at City ... any weakness are mostly hidden away with the players strengths showing through ... Tripps had a poor season but he is undoubtedly strong as an attacking FB with a decent cross, shot, and set piece delivery ... that's what Juventus see not the stuff we all saw last season ...

TBH with you I think all Trippier needs is a rest something he hasn't had for 2 years he'll come back to pre season refreshed and hopefully kick on with us 1 bad season doesn't make him a bad player he's twice the player Kyle Walker ever was

Embarrassing really.

Anybody who glosses over it or thinks it is anything but indicative of a club completely stuck in ideas and willingness is kidding themselves.

A record of inactivity that is unlikely to be beaten.

Shame there is no trophy for it. Would end our wait for silverware.

The No Spend Cup.

It's only going to get worse as well mate imo, I think we might get N'dombele deal done but honestly, if the rumours are true and we are bidding £10m lower than what Juve want then I don't think Levy has any intention of signing him whatsoever, it will be another "we tried but the market etc" situation.

I wonder what his defenders will think if we fail to sign anybody this window, will they still believe him and ENIC have the best intentions for this club? Especially if our manager walks away...

This is just incredible!

As I understand it, they are pledging a monthly cash amount on the premise that the club sign someone. It's marketing genius!

If we don't spend at least £50m on one player this summer I'd be shocked.
Read a decent piece from Klopp the other day when asked if Liverpool will keep “spending”......

His response was interesting “when I was at Dortmund, Munich could spend 100m every year and buy anyone they liked, and as many players as they needed, now it takes 100m to just buy one Centre half, so yes, we will keep spending”

Weather we like it or not, agree or disagree, the value of players inflate year after year after year.
From a Spurs point of view here, by the time we are prepared to spend say 50m, 50m will buy you one of two things, an average established player, or a really good prospect with some change left over on the 50m and you hope he turns out good.

Man Utd have debts, they call it “manageable debt” but how the fuck does a club that has been one the top 2 clubs in the world with highest turnover for the past 20 years have debt?
Football is heading for its version of a Housing market crash I think, it’s just a matter of time.

Do you lot sit there all day everyday refreshing Newsnow and Twitter, hoping for a signing??

Trust me, there are better things to do on a weekend. WHEN we sign someone, i'm sure we'll be told. Until then, let it go and stop clinging onto crumbs of a clue in some attention seeking saddo's Twitter post.

Have a word with yourselves...

We have the best training ground in the world, the best stadium in the world. We qualified and got to the CL final without buying anyone. Be careful what you wish for, remember what it is was like before ENIC.
So you want us to do a Leeds?Who could do a better job than Levy?
Etc etc...

I get the impression that the same people who say this are the same ones that defend the final season of Game Of Thrones.

There's some very short memories on here - in 15/16 we spent 64m - in 16/17 we spent 75m - in 17-18 we spent 109m ... then 18/19 we spent nothing, but we also kept everyone we finished top four and made the CL final .... don't forget we also built the best training facilities and best stadium in the UK, not the same as signing players, but still hardly a small achievement.

19/20 I'm confident WE WILL spend 150m .... just have a bit of patience .... if we get to August 9th with no spend .... then you can all say "I told you so" you know you want to, but until then please give it a rest ....

All that money spent was money from sales mate, let's not muddy the waters.

I am glad you are confident but honestly, it would go against everything Levy has done up until this point to spend £150m net.

Also, imo, £150m, whilst it would make me happy that we are showing some sort of ambition, it still imo won't be enough to push us on to the next level either, we need, bare minimum imo, 4 signings, in todays market for top players you are looking at £200m+, can you see that happening?

Nobody wants to say "I told you so" that's the fallacy of the eternal optimist, that right there is the problem, people who defend our transfer policy see this as some sort of battle against others who are critical of it.

It's not a battle, none of us will be happy or saying "I told you so" if we fail to sign someone, not a real.supporter anyway.

I WANT to be wrong, that's the honest truth because me being wrong means success for spurs.

I get it, some people are still optimistic but for me it's once bitten twice shy, I won't believe it until I see it.

That's cheap for them.

As Poch has said many times there is no point making signings for signings sake
We just finished 4th in the league and reached a champions league final for the first time we also have arguably some of the finest facilities of any club in the world
I believe that money has always been made available for Poch to spend but if the right players aren't available who can add something more to the team why sign them?

What I like to see is Spurs using there steely Levy might in the market and saying fuck Ceballos for Eriksen we want Asensio.

We need to use our power and players who want to leave in the right way to get somebody better

As full of shit as you think this statement is if we were smart enough we could use cash and Eriksen to get Mbappe from PSG and he could make us genuine world beaters.
