As Poch has said many times there is no point making signings for signings sake
We just finished 4th in the league and reached a champions league final for the first time we also have arguably some of the finest facilities of any club in the world
I believe that money has always been made available for Poch to spend but if the right players aren't available who can add something more to the team why sign them?

What I like to see is Spurs using there steely Levy might in the market and saying fuck Ceballos for Eriksen we want Asensio.

We need to use our power and players who want to leave in the right way to get somebody better

As full of shit as you think this statement is if we were smart enough we could use cash and Eriksen to get Mbappe from PSG and he could make us genuine world beaters.

Poch has made it incredibly clear he wants signings, him "having the money to spend" doesn't mean having the money to spend on the players he wants, that's the issue.

Poch probably knows what it's going to take to improve us, the players are available but it seems that Levy and ENIC don't want to spend the money required to get them.

You're right in saying that Poch probably wouldn't buy players just for the sake of it because he doesn't want more flops that will not get game time, that doesn't mean he is happy though.

Also, what we have done to this point means nothing, living in the past and saying we have never had it so good is just an excuse for lack of ambition imo, the stadium and facilities aren't going to win us trophies unless the money from them is reinvested into the squad.

All that money spent was money from sales mate, let's not muddy the waters.

Who did we sell last year? that's why we only had 45m to spend and Poch didn't like anyone who we could sign .... so no signings ... we did spend a lot on new contracts ...

This year is very different we have 100m or more to spend without selling anybody ... for Spurs that's a first

I believe we will sell players for 50m (and maybe more) add to that the 100m we already have and bingo 150m to spend.

What will be very different is Spurs becoming a big Net spender .... that's the benefits of success kicking in to our cash flow .... from 20m profit to 132m profit, wow .....

I am defending our transfer policy ... we're a business we can only spend what we make .... over the last ten years we've spent net nothing ... why? Because any profit we made went into our infrastructure, was it worth it? feckin' sure it was Enfield Training Centre and NWHL are testament to that.

But that's now done, we made 132m profit last year only 30m of which is needed to service our debt, of course we could pay off more but there's no need ... that gives Poch 100m to spend (and he already had money from from last year) ... he's sitting on a big transfer budget have no doubts about that ...

But he's also careful ... in 16/17 and again in 17/18 we bought players not quite what we wanted but what we could afford ... that was in hindsight a mistake Janssen, Wanyama, GKN, Aurier, Moura, Sanchez, Llorente, Foyth even Sissoko have all been a bit hit and miss .... we're not going to do that again .... Poch will only buy players he knows will improve the squad, and they're the same players every other top club wants, that means they're expensive, want big salaries and have a lot of competing offers ...

We're the new boys at this table, DL may be a tough negotiator but that was for 10m-20m-30m players competing with mid table clubs or losing out to the big boys ... now suddenly we're the big boy, that's a whole new level. Today our record transfer is 36m, shit we've only ever bought 8 players over 20m in our history. RM, Barca, PSG, City they can do that in a single window. We could well break our transfer record not once, not twice, but three times this summer ... this is a Spurs transfer window at a whole new level, and that level is new to everyone.

Have faith if the right players agree to come we will sign them ..... as I said 150m spent ... quote me on it

I am glad you are confident but honestly, it would go against everything Levy has done up until this point to spend £150m net.

Also, imo, £150m, whilst it would make me happy that we are showing some sort of ambition, it still imo won't be enough to push us on to the next level either, we need, bare minimum imo, 4 signings, in todays market for top players you are looking at £200m+, can you see that happening?

Nobody wants to say "I told you so" that's the fallacy of the eternal optimist, that right there is the problem, people who defend our transfer policy see this as some sort of battle against others who are critical of it.

It's not a battle, none of us will be happy or saying "I told you so" if we fail to sign someone, not a real.supporter anyway.

I WANT to be wrong, that's the honest truth because me being wrong means success for spurs.

I get it, some people are still optimistic but for me it's once bitten twice shy, I won't believe it until I see it.

Sometimes easier.

As I said embarrassing.

Embarrassing really.

Anybody who glosses over it or thinks it is anything but indicative of a club completely stuck in ideas and willingness is kidding themselves.

A record of inactivity that is unlikely to be beaten.

Shame there is no trophy for it. Would end our wait for silverware.

The No Spend Cup.

Anyone who thinks because we want a player it means he will come is also deluded.

We aren’t competing with West Brom targets anymore, it’s between us and City and Utd and Real.....

If you think we’re top of the pile then have a word. We’ll get the players that want to play, fight, compete and aren’t interested in having the highest wages and playing for the quadruple every year.

So good luck because they don’t grow on trees.
It doesn’t help either knowing you will never, ever play ahead of Dele, Eriksen or Kane, no matter what.

Man Utd have debts, they call it “manageable debt” but how the fuck does a club that has been one the top 2 clubs in the world with highest turnover for the past 20 years have debt?
Because the Glazer family borrowed the money to buy the club, the loan was transferred to the club and the loan plus interest installments have been paid back since then and is ongoing. It caused a stink at the time as up until that point the club had been debt free.

With due respect we have had long enough to look for and get players who would add the requisite quality.

As for the Eriksen, Alli and Kane argument, that's too easy to peddle.

Get the players in first and then let's see.

Many clubs will pull out all the stops to bring in that 1 player of a generation that literally every time they touch the ball they can conjure magic and do the unimaginable .

Last summer Juventus bought a certain Cristiano Ronaldo and overnight the share price went up that much it virtually paid the fee for the transfer not to mention the worldwide shirt sales generated increasing club revenue further

Trust me when I say Kylian Mbappe is well within our range it will pay for itself but that's why Poch is in the hot seat and I have 100% faith in what he does COYS

We have the players to drop Dele and Eriksen (Son, Moura, Lamela, Skipp, Llorente) and the 30wks Kane has missed over the last few seasons, and the 95% win ratio in his absence is also proof that he could be rested.

But everyone lauded dragging him up to Tranmere instead of resting him, then moan when he’s fatigued and injured all the time.

This is just incredible!

As I understand it, they are pledging a monthly cash amount on the premise that the club sign someone. It's marketing genius!
"£2.10 a tit and a fiver for his arse"

Have to agree here. I get the feeling that Kane is all about chasing records which is to his detriment. He is a goal machine for sure, but he’s fucking himself up regularly with 4-8 week absences when giving himself a week or 10 days here and there would probably see him smashing records all over the place within a few seasons - not burning himself out and aggravating injuries because he never gives himself chance to fully heal.
And I also get the impression that if Kane says he is ready to play, he plays. Which does worry me because whilst it’s his body, it’s our club.

The point is here, every club is trying to keep up with the Jones next door, since Chelsea, and later City broke from the norm they have tipped the scales, the minute a player is bought for X and paid Y that ripples through the leagues, it sets the bench mark, others have to follow and to do so they borrow.
Most clubs have amassed large debt one way or another these days.....tipping point incoming!!

Son and Lucas made almost 100 appearances between them last season, and if you think Lamela, Skipp(???) or Llorente were good enough to properly back up any of DESK last season then there really is no hope for you.

No we don't.

You just proved that better than I could ever have done.

That’s some cult they’re building over there. They’re starting to make the Manson Family look like weekend amateurs.
