The thing is with Sessegnons results in the Championship he'll be worth far more to them than £10m. I wouldn't be surprised if Fulham decide to keep him, use him to get back into the Prem and let his fee go to a tribunal. I also see him having more of a future as a LB than a WF and I'd like to think he'd come in with both options a possibility based on how he develops. I see him making a better left back in time than a WF but that's just based on what I've seen of him so far.

I’d happily give one of our own youth the time and effort. He flopped his PL audition massively and I’d be happy to bet that Sessengon will never be any better than a Wolves/Southampton level of player at best

Fair point that he underwhelmed last season but I'd still take a punt on him at £20m. He played in a Fulham team that got out played most games and still got 6 assists and 2 goals I think. I'd take a £20m punt on him to see how he fared in a team that sees far more of the ball and creates more chances. The HG for me is a big pull as well

His notable upside would be as a LB/LWB with good attacking product.

I think us spending 20-35m on the notion that he'll be decent winger (an english N'Jie/GKN if you will) would be crazy on our part....

Sessegnon wouldn't cut it as a starter at the moment. He should only come in as a squad player and should only get cup games or league games whenever senior players need rotating.

£35m with a year left on his contract is a no go for me. £20m I'd be keen on but £35m is too much as it stands. Unfortunately Fulham don't need the money so it's a little bit of a bugger getting it done it seems. I'm with you that he shouldn't be starting.

You pay a premium for a player like Sess because you might have to pay an insane premium later.
He solves registration issues and will surely be a starter at either LB or LW one day.
I think he has the goods for LW, and a decent English one would start at 50m+.
Would be dumb to not try and lay out 25m for him imo.

Gareth Bale says: "Remember me?"

Who?

Touche, but I'd like to think our scouting process is a bit more measured than that.....

Besides, my underlying point is that 35m (or 40m as pear last summer's clamouring for him) is a big chunk towards strengthening the starting XI.

Peeps need to decide what's most important in this window, cos the widely demanded "2/3 starters" + expensive prospects ain't happening unless we notably weaken the first XI with sales to begin with.

Even Woolwich have started signing good players... Tierney would have been massive ffs.

They're merely "optimistic"

I this really more noteworthy than us "making progress" over NDombele?

Trade places with them if you like, but personally I'm good.

Edit: Woolwich legend John Hartson slams embarrassing Kieran Tierney transfer bid

Levy's a cunt tho'.

I hear ya and by all means do not intend to criticize your thinking here.
It's just that, you can't really be sure what a youngster will become.
Nobody though Bale would ever become a LW.
Sess has got talent, no doubt. I think Poch would be perfect for him.
And by god would it be nice to have a natural LW again.

To be honest, given registration issues, I'd argue that signing Sess is MORE important long-term than signing Ndombele.

Such guarantees are shakey ground, my friend.

I'd be fine with £25m but no more than that. He has potential but could easily flop like so many have in the past. With a year left on his current deal I think that's more than fair to Fulham but their owner doesn't need the money. £20m is good but £25m would be my top end, anything more than that and I think Fulham are being unrealistic.

Equally I respect your right to your point of view, but if you think a new LB/LW/??? is more important than revamping our CM just cos of HG (which can just as easily be addressed with another player or position and pricetag) then it's safe to say you are in the minority.

Genuine question.... What do you hope to achieve in this window?

True, but I believe in this kid.
He's got a good head on his shoulders.
Did you see the chick he brought to his Championship player of the season award ceremony?
She was just a normal healthy looking girl, as compared to the usual future WAG golddiggers.
Kid has a level head about him, as compared to the usual primadonnas.
Needs to get out of Fulham before he gets used to too low of a level of play though.
