There's next to nothing in Marca and not a lot in As beyond this, which is all stuff you've read already (Pochettino guaranteeing him 40 games next season, which sounds like crap to me)

My view of him is that he's very good in bursts and near-invisible at others. I was talking to an old Madrid fan and a young Atleti fan on Thursday, they both said the same thing. I'm guessing that would be the "standard line" here.

Ake simply fits the bill and suddenly it's 40 million. Fcuk it why not 50 million.

Honestly the prices for players and what even relatively average ones now get paid MENTAL.

What about Evan N'Dicka from Eintracht Frankfurt as a long term replacement for Vertonghen? He's a left footed CB who is only 19 years old but is a first teamer playing for the team who finished 7th and gave up the 5th fewest goals in the Bundesliga last year. Surely we can pay N'Dicka more than whatever EF is, and he can learn from one of the best in the game until he's ready to take over for Jan. Plus he's French so I doubt he has any real loyalty to staying in Germany. N'Dicka's footage shows that he's super physical, so he'll fit right in with the PL. A lot of his tackles look a bit rash, but he got 0 red cards in 2300 minutes. Pry him away for 20 million pounds now and don't be forced to pay 80 million pounds for a proven LCB in 2 years when Vertonghen is past it.
