Barrios?
The little midget aggro bugger?

Everton's first choice for that role was Hojbjerg
They bid more than us
Imagine it.....Everton wanted Hojelaboggle and end up getting a much better player because we got him instead![]()
Not going to happen mateWe lack creativity, we still dont have a defensive midfielder, another striker obviously.
Yes, but apparently we can write off Hojbjerg after one game while at the same time making excuses for a fat waste of wages who's been here for a year, because there's nothing wrong with that logic on the forum from some corners.
True, but to play devil's advocate: you'd fancy your ability to break into the starting XI based on this afternoon.Well if anyone was thinking of signing next week they've definitely had serious reason for a rethink if they watched the Everton game. Hardly a positive advert for the club was it ?

Absolutely, 100 times the player Winks, Sissoko or Iceberg are
We have bought cheap average buys which are making us a cheap average club.Imagine it.....Everton wanted Hojelaboggle and end up getting a much better player because we got him instead![]()
Always loved Allan he's been class everytime I ever saw him play for Napoli and IMO Everton's best signing of the window.
Sissoko is limited but provides a lot to us. He's not my favorite player but he gets picked for the world cup winners for a reason.Do you think he would provide any less than Sissoko provides for us?
I am not sure he will be anything great but at this point I would gladly take a young player like him for 10 million and sell the French International in Sissoko for whatever we could get for him.
He might not be great but I can't think he can be anymore useless than Sissoko is.

...and the reason Hojbjerg got booked for emptying Richarlison was because Ndombele gave the ball away cheaply again. Solid hit too, enjoyed that one.
James Rodriguez signed for them for about £20m or whatever way they worked the transfer and he played 92 minutes after not playing a full game since February or something and looked quality.
We paid nearly £60m for Tanguy well over a year ago and he can't sprint for more than half an hour, has looked mostly poor, fat and uninterested and couldn't even pass the fucking thing simply today.
I'm going to clutch at straws and hope that our apparent failed bid for Zaniolo actually suggests someone at the club realises the need for someone new in the midfield.

Agreed - said earlier in this thread that I'd loved to sign Allan. Supreme defensive midfielder who'd have transformed us completely.
But with him being 29 - it probably was never a go'er.
Hjobjerg would have done a lot better surrounded by Gomes-James-Doucoure-Richarlison.
Considering that Sissko and Alli are poor passers of the ball it will be tougher than with the guys I listed.
I have also never said that PEH can't have success here.
I think if we surround him with players that are able to do the progressing for him and that he can outlet to he will look better.
The debate becomes if it is worth it for a team of our supposed level to have to play players that are that limited and don't offset it with being great in other areas.
