Well that taught me🙄😂 strange.

i think his new short term contract is very telling....

If he does well at Villareal they will probably buy him.

If he returns to Spurs, unless his time at Villareal says he can make it at Spurs, he will be sold.

He's been unlucky in the sense he should have been sent out on loan 2 years ago to gain experience - already 22 so should be in a first team squad playing regularly from now onwards

To anyone thinking Skriniar is still an option - you can watch him for Inter Milan in an hour.

Tough one for Inter, either Conte is prepared to play him or the Inter board will not be happy to have a £45m asset sitting on the bench and gradually his value diminishes.

I don't think him playimg today changes things - I am sure Conte has been told to play him - Spurs will make a take it or leave it offer tomorrow (and my guess is a maximum £40m including some add ons - Foyth on loan not sold means little has changed inn the lasty week ) which is the maximum we rate him at and can easily finance atm.

Its then a question of whether Conte still says to the Board 'I reallly dont want to play him' and they accept the Spurs offer or want to stick to their valuation (and we seem to be the highest bidders).

Not one anyone can call I suspect

Him playing today means nothing in terms of a deal as Dias, Bruno and even Eriksen starting a day before selling have all been mentioned.

But Inter saying they won't deal on the final day probably puts this one to bed unless we agree something today.

Inter have 7 centre backs on their books anyway

Thought inter wanted that Fiorentina lad. You have a point if we don't get in today we won't get him this window. Inter would be suicidal letting him go tomorrow

I think it still happens , expect to hear a lot of noise after both games today and him flying in tomorrow for his medical , why announce our new striker so early if we had all our business done for the window? He can’t play until after the international break anyway so if he was out last signing I think he would have got announced tomorrow once his work permit is sorted , hence we are still going to be trying to add another player and that is Skriniar!

Fiorentina are pushing for Martinez Quarta from River Plate - IF they can get that over the line it opens up Milenkovic to Inter Milan which in turn potentially sees Skriniar move to Spurs.

If you are right (and I hope you are) then I suggest a small but sincere prayer that he stays safe and well for this match. The last thing we want is to have the deal almost done and the lad goes and gets whacked.

I never got this fear about a player getting injured prior to a move, no different from getting injured in their first game for a new club - on top of all this, injured players are signed all the time as a medical only checks for more long term issues

It's not a fear as such, more of a concern, it would be nice if he arrived fit , well, eager and able to play immediately.
