He was fine in the Championship - but so was Sessegnon (in fact, Sessegnon was better) and we've seen how much development he needs.

Again, got no issue with signing Aarons, but he wouldn't be first choice, simply someone we can look to develop. Therefore, is there any point signing him? When we need someone who's an upgrade on Aurier? Unless we can sell Aurier and KWP and bring in two right backs.

Pereira would be my choice but Leicester are going to demand silly money. Semedo? Henrichs at Monaco?

If we’re keeping one of the RB it’s gotta be Aurier. Neither are great defensively, but KWP isn’t on Aurier’s level in the attack.

Not sure we have a chance with Pereira or Semedo.

I liked Henrichs at Leverkusen - but he's been absolutely wank for Monaco. I liked whoever suggested Dumfries.

Shame we missed out on Hakimi really.

Oh I forgot about Dumfries. Interesting. I wonder if he made an impression on our scouts when they were watching Bergwijn. He is captain now as well so he must have some leadership qualities. Could be a very clever signing

I know last summer when Dani Alves was out of contract I liked the idea of bringing him in to pair with either Foyth or KWP or a new young RB to have Alves for the big games and the young guy to allow him to play a limited number of games at his age.

All it would have cost is salary so I thought it would be a good fit. Not sure if he is done at a high level or even had interest in staying in Europe since he went back to Brazil but I wouldn't mind a similar set up if there is someone like him available for cheap to pair with an Aarons or Ferguson in case they are not ready.

i imagine the issue is that we have limited resources with Levy in charge so bringing in 2 RB's, a LB, a DM and back-up striker is probably too much to ask, plus who knows if a player is available to fill that role but what I don't want to see is another Sessegnon situation where we bring in a new FB but find out he a. isn't ready and b. likely isn't a FB.

Wonder how much Barrios would cost nowadays. Poch's biggest mistake was not making sure the club got him. Infitely better than Hojberg and the likes. £13 million in Jan 19. Crazy

If we could get Barrios for less than £25 million i really hope we would do so. I wonder how much better last season could have ended with him in our team

Tbf, it's this season where we've truly suffered.

Aside from 3rd vs 4th, probably wouldn't have affected our league campaign that much... LC exit similarly... FA Cup exit was just rough fixture pile-up. CL final we were just shit.

Being consistently linked to two new CBs make me wonder if Jose wants to eventually run three at the back.

Dier, Sanchez, Toby, Gabriel, Kim, Tanganga is decent depth.

Aurier would be much better in a wingback role. As would Sessegnon. Though, we'd still need to bring in another RB to challenge Aurier
