Transfers Summer 2020 Transfer Thread

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

You know when you play 5 card brag and you just keep 1 card and change 4, you wonder what you might end up with!
The more I watch our defence I think that's what we should do?
How have we slipped from having the best back 4 to this shambles?
And sees is too lightweight to be a left back, similar to KWL,
JM usually buys 6 foot muscular types for every position so new recruitment will be interesting. It might rule out Aaron's for instance.
It will be VERY interning to see who he wants/gets.
If he fails, we will be mediocre for years, if he succeeds then the sky is the limit.
I have been watching spurs for nearly 60 years and this transfer window is the most important ever if we want to be top 4.

I've been clamouring for a dm but oliver skipp deserves a shot and from what I saw last night in Jamie Bowden he isnt far behind.

Interesting decision we have.

Agree Jamie Bowden is a good player, as is Harvey White and Oliver Skipp - all play in a similar(ish) position but in slightly different ways. Challenge is how to bring the through to the first team - Skipp still struggling for minutes so might be better to select clubs to loan Bowden and White to next season ?

Possibly yes it should also factor in when were looking at spending 50 million longer someone who plays there.

As I've already acknowledged they will eventually make a big commercial gain upon sale, but the stadium, training ground etc. that the clubs profits have funded will still remain a club asset after they have left....

So how does that fit "ENIC are stealing all the money" narrative?

This isnt Gold & Sullivan
Stealing all the money is obviously wrong. However like i said, the stadium will be paid for eventually by fans( tv revenue, tickets, merchandize). But the money from the sale of that stadium goes to levy and lewis. There has been almost no success on the pitch and yet they stand to gain 100s of millions in profit from it. It puts in perspective the whole wanking that goes on about how theyve got us a new stadium. By paying over the top with the fans' money . Its like sure thanks for buying a really expensive stadium with our money and then making us pay more with the increased ticket prices.

It's not a bad earner is it money for nothing in return cushty.

Which is the outright lie I've been rejecting.

+ TV money and commercial income, but yes.... It's called being self sustaining.... Something that FFP requires of all teams.

Not quite, no.... They get a return on their investment via the sale of the club.... Like the rest of its assets the stadium remains with the club to continue to generate the income it was built to.

G&S/WH or Coventry is what selling a stadium looks like.

The wanking (if you insist!) is due to that fact that it generates dosh for us to spend on wages and players fees.

That's not so much an ENIC thing as a football thing.

Sure it sucks, but you're talking to someone that got priced out of the game upon the launch of the EPL when ticket prices tripled overnight.

Now sadly, when I feel flush, I go to games; the rest of the time: dodgy streams.

No-one is forced to fill the coffers with beer and merch money. I've prob bought 5 beers at WHL in approx 30 years of being a match going fan.

I know it's far from the most important position to replace but I would absolutely love if we landed a deal for André Onana. He's a true leader and calming presence for a goalkeeper. Also, a club legend already for not saving those Moura goals.

Hugo has been good for us but injuries and age is catching on him. Gazza is at best second option.

Out -
Dier (depends, if he commits to CB and turns out he's good keep him).
Alli (If you can get very good money for him)
Wanyama

In - LB/RB
CB (possibly not needed if Dier turns out to be elite).
DM
Backup striker.

Main issue here is actually getting quality at fullback. They seem in short supply and cost quite a bit.

Small correction - capital investment is not covered by FFP. Owners can invest their own money on Stadium / training ground etc.

I wouldnt have expected him to say anything else with 2 months of the season left and needing THIS squad to do the business.

Owners are allowed to put their own money in for infrastructure as far as I am aware. FFP doesnt come into it.

Also the dosh that the stadium is generating. Genuine question. How much extra are we generating with the new stadium per month/per year whatever and is it higher than the repayments or however its structured.

Also about the part that no one is forced. Of course no one is forced to pay up, but once they are a part of cult, no one thinks of supporting as a choice. Its just very very different from a real business.

True story

Alex Nicolao Telles (born 15 December 1992) is a Brazilian professional footballer who plays as a left-back for Chelsea. He chose the club because he felt Ole Gunnar Solksjaer is nothing more than a fraudulent, Norwegian fisherman who wouldn't develop his career. He joined the club with Sancho, who is a huge fan of Chelsea FC and is "more than prepared" to send them to Champion's League glory next season if that Basque dwarf Kepa leaves this summer. Telles is an offensive full-back and is described as a skilled, quick and playmaking defender.[1]
