Has there been any link? That would be a really interesting move. I don't watch much Erdevisie but from seeing him play in Europe he looks great on the edge of the box, lovely one-two's and has a real eye for goal. Could be great at helping to break down deep-block defenses. Do you consider him to be a very high level player?

Not really on the agenda is it.... More pressing issues. Particularly when it would be amount to replacing a player deemed surplus to requirements with a player of a similar ilk.

I think he is more aggressive than Eriksen in getting into the box, and can cover a lot of ground - has better legs than Eriksen. I think that Ajax team was unique with so many good players and he is one of their best. I also like the way he has resisted the predictable big money move to Real Madrid. I don't know if there is any link but obviously the Spurs hierarchy would know about him from our CL semi final, where I thought he was the stand out player along with Lucas.
But Liverpool needed players in those positions. Chelsea need a GK, LB and CB if they want to win the league. None of those three play there.
They make it sound like it was yesterday FFS. Talk about trying to tap into the anti-levy market for clicks. It was over a year ago before he'd even played for Birmingham.
Good news in one respect as it means our scouting at lower age groups is working.

I expect Chelsea to sign good players in each of the positions you mention, unfortunately. Building a really formidable squad.
By the sound of it, we may (or may not) have put in a £1m bid last year for an unknown 16yr old who at the time had played just a handful of games (if he played any) for one of the weakest sides in the Championship. I don't have an issue with that. Move along people, nothing to see here.
Unlike other segments of the (ahem) 'article', it doesn't cite a source.... Although it does claim that this alleged bid was made year ago (when the kid was only 16).... Any younger than that it's not even legal to buy a player.
Perhaps there is some truth to it, but a 1m bid for a 16 year old isn't that insane and a lot can change in a year once he'd began playing senior games.
The writer is probably just playing up to Levy's reputation in order to give the news of his transfer to BVB a Spurs-spin.
