Transfers Summer 2020 Transfer Thread

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Yeh, I'd expect us to have a bit to spend, but generating additional funds will be tough.
But, generating additional funds will be tough for everyone, right?

And we should have more to spend than most? You know, due the superb financial hadling of Daniel Levy.

And as you said earlier, you'd expect at least a sizeable chunk of the £173,000,000.00 state secured loan to be spent on the team?

Exciting times ahead, buddy. Lets ride!

6:10 the guy asked him 'Is the team going to be similar with a few tweeks?' 'He says lets see, I don't know'
Of course that will grab attention, it's certainly got my attention.
It kind of suggests to me he does want wholesale changes but doesn't know if he will get the players he wants.

When he says i don't know it's because he knows it takes forever for Levy to agree deals. He probably thinks we will make our signings in the last few days and hours of the transfer window in October.

Amazingly the deal with the government loan is that we can't spend on transfers, so the one time we have a potential leg up financially we can't use, sometimes where spurs are concentrated you can't make this shit up.

I'm still on the fence with Coutinho but part of me is scared to let him go to Woolwich.

I could see him and Gio being little shits together though.
I didn’t really want him when Dybala and Bruno were on the table, because he’s greedy and I worry the fire’s gone out of him at Barca.

But now, if it’s possible it’s a no-brainer on loan. He’s perfect to play on the transition with his dribbles and his long-range shooting and set pieces could help open those teams who sit back against us at home.

As, you say though, it seems that Joorbachian has been given the keys to Woolwich and it wouldn’t surprise me if giving Luiz a new deal was a deal to get access to another of his players.

We need a striker to rotate with/play backup to Kane. We all know that. Right now we are linked with Callum Wilson. I would however like to present an alternative.

Sebastian Andersson, currently at Union Berlin.
He stands at 6ft2, is good with his head and in the box. He has one year left on his contract with Union Berlin and has 12 goals and 3 assists in the Bundesliga. His buyout clause is 5 million euros. I'd describe his playing style as a younger, more agile Llorente.

He's also being linked with Lille, Celtic, Schalke and Valencia.

I saw him a few times during lockdown thought he looked a decent player too

Depending on what one has to sell (see ffull post on the matter above).

"Sizeable chunk" is a misquote, but yes as I've said repeatedly I expect us to have some cash to spend and suspect the loan will help us do so.

...but as I also said all along I expect that loan was also to provide security against operational costs in light of a massive loss of revenue.
