If you spend big and don't win anything then youre obviously not very good at spending. Its not an excuse to stop spending big, you just sack the person spending the money.

Well yeah, that's what we did. The manager who insisted we get Ndombele no matter the price, got the sack.

I'm sure if we could get that £60m back we could make two £30m signings that would give much more to the team. We are not at the point yet where spending big makes sense for us, we are back to playing on Thursdays and players who are genuinely worth £60m+ and 200k a week in salary do not want to play on Thursdays.

With Chelsea taking our CL spot we no longer have anything to offer elite players, if you want to play CL in London with a big wage you go to Chelsea. We will have to find another way to get back in there that doesn't involve massive spending.

Jeez, Chelsea are finishing up Silva, Sarr, and Chilwell. I feel sick. How are we ever going to compete with that juggernaut. And it looks like they will even try and play some football instead of packing it in. Good thing that Havertz deal is struggling or else we'd be fighting for sikth. Good thing we got that PEH deal over the line or else this would be embarrassing.

No surprise, he's trash.

Makes you wonder what player they were expecting.....

Aurier is much better (although still worth upgrading on). Anyone who says otherwise is a revisionist.

Trippier cost us far more in his final season than Aurier did this season.

Completely agree with that part.....

Hype is he's headed to Villa..... Not a good fit for a FB that is attacking orientated.

Interview with AC Milan's DOF:

"Q: Is Serge Aurier a goal?

A: There are many names that come close to us. Aurier is an excellent player, but at the moment there are no conditions to think about him. He is not a goal."

The last time he played good football was in the 2018 World Cup as a wing-back with no real obligation to defend. He'll do fine from an attacking perspective, but they'll leak goals from the right if he goes there.
