Transfers Summer 2020 Transfer Thread

I don't think there will be any deal done. Why would we wait until the season starts to enter talks if we want him? It doesn't make sense.
I wouldnt be shocked if its him as he's cheap, Diallo or Josh King imo. As you say if they were top targets they'd be here by now so they will clearly be 6th/7th choices and make do and mend. For the time we've waited it would have to be a pretty good striker to justify him not being here by the time our fixture congestion starts.

Cheers mate 😉

Good timing for the game!

Now who’s for a cunt off??
Sissoko might need you defending his corner if he blazes 1 over from 5 yards whilst once again refusing to arch his back. Then over compensate's by then getting through 1 on 1 with the keeper, & tamely rolling it to him as though its a backpass to lloris.

I'm slightly concerned that none of our current targets, Troy Deeney excepted, are home grown

King seems realistic. Bournemouth need to sell, he wants to go, wouldn't be too expensive & he can cover a few positions as well as upfront. Also homegrown & that name does well here!

Is he any good - legit question?
Who knows and who really cares anymore. I think I said before, we've signed strikers like Soldado and Llorente who were proven and they flopped here. We signed someone like Jannsen who scored for fun in one season ain Holland but did nothing for us. The point is there is no guarantee of any striker being a success. Diallo is a striker, he has scored goals in French football, at 13 mill it represents a no risk deal and is far better than paying almost 30 mill for his equivalent Ollie Watkins

I think our first choice was Wilson but it seems he didn't want to be back up to Harry. Fair enough he wants to be first choice and he will get that at Newcastle. After that Jose has had to reassess the market, work with his budget and someone like Diallo comes back into play

Llorente didn’t ‘flop’ when he was put into the team. Pretty decent backup, tbf. Soldado and Janssen, fair dos.

Indeed. We'll only truly know how good a signing is once they play for us.

Lamela was the next Bale. Jansen did everything possible in a shop-window season. Sanchez was the CB coup that the elite wanted. Ndombele was the next footballing god.

Yet Son arrived with little fanfair and proved to be a blinder.
