Well that's what I've expected and hoped for all along.... That'd certainly the best (lowest risk) deal for us and if we wanted him for a 3rd year he'd then finally be out of contract and that could be a fresh negotiation directly between him & us.

There's more chance of me going to Afghanistan to open a bar and titty club in Helmand Province than there is that Bale will ever pull on a Real Madrid shirt again

It's odd though... Seems (from over here at least!) there's plenty of kind words about Bale coming out of Spain in the midst of this.

If it really is literally just Zidanes personal beef then; hypothetically, all could change if he would get the sack at some point over the next 12 months.

Also fans with a real knowledge of football understand what a good signing he is.. and even Real understood that hence their buy back clause.
In a way out of all our transfers in this summer, Reguilon is the best guarantee of playing a fantastic level. Bale obviously has an insane ceiling, but is a bit of a risk due to his lack of playing time.

Real fans really dislike Bale though. I think it's very unlikely he ever returns there, unless Spurs decide not to exercise the second year of loan deal.

I think he'll keep the focus on about being delighted to be back at spurs, great ground, loves the fans, can't wait to pull the spurs shirt on again etc etc

I don't think he'll come out and blast Real as such
