Tomiyasu and midfielder would be great.
I have never seen a single second of Tomiyasu playing, but what today demonstrated is that if we intended to play five at the back, we need a specialist wingback that knows how to play the position.

I really like Tanganga but he’s not that player. He’s a RB in a 4. I hope Tomiyasu isn’t a ‘bits and pieces’ RB. We need specialists and a fixed formation that we’re confident with.

Few things in life are certain.

Death.
Taxes.
Getting disagrees from the same half a dozen posters.
Every.
Single.
Time.

Shame it's not SC and no one gives a shit.
Funny things is, they're all people I put on ignore, most ages ago.

I wonder if the people continuing calling for a CAM or playmaker have watched the way Nuno has used Bryan this season.

He has the free role. If we did need another goal today he would’ve been on much sooner. Lo Celso, despite his lack of success so far is also viewed as an CAM.

I get the frustration that there hasn’t been more goals but there are bigger needs to fill IMO

My suspicion is that we thought a mega bid was likely to come in for Kane and he was brought in to spend the money, like Baldini.

I would not be surprised if he drifts away within 18 months.
I liked wat he has done. By now we are a much improved team and with some of the most exciting talents for the future in Gil, Skipp and Sarr. Romero is also very young and will be starting for us soon. Also Gollini is a very good keeper and will probably be Lloris replacement. Also Sissoko and Lamela gone are great news. And we kept Kane. Very good job until now.

I feel like I've been on a slightly different planet with Tanganga. Until about 2 weeks ago I thought he was 18 years old and I always thought he was actually a CB but we've been playing him right side because we needed someone and he started putting in good performances. Been 2 years now since his debut probably why I thought he was younger than 22.

He was reluctant to go forward and take the man on today but did bomb forward to link up with attack and receive the ball high up the pitch. Definitely seems more a CB for me so maybe he will transition across in a few years. He would suit a back three/5 quite well as one of the three with a better RWB that will naturally attack more.

If the transfer market were to close tomorrow, I’d say it was 6.5/10. I think we’ve done a good job clearing some of the dead wood (Foyth, Sissoko etc) and we brought in some young talent with potential in the areas we need improvement (Romero, Gil). If we can get Aurier off the books and bring in a young RB with potential, I’d bump it up to a 7.5 to perhaps even a 8 depending on who we sign.

It was always going to be a challenging market especially with the state of our finances but I think we’ve done some shrewd business. We’ve got a relatively youthful squad now and I think we have something to build on.

Did Levy tell him to make silly offers?

I mean Yes I don't know but do we have 0 money to spend? The net is nothing. Surely Levy gave him something of a budget.
As far as I can see, Levy still decides the buying and selling prices, and the way that payments are structured. Paratici identifies targets and tries to find buyers, and after that, I think he's probably in the lap of the gods.

He looks a really exciting prospect, but surely that’s an unrealistic burden to place on his shoulders?

I think we need to add goals to this team somehow, ideally we would do it with the addition of an attacking midfielder and a right wing, but since we have Levy getting one will be tough enough let alone both.

Gil has looked good in one game agaisnt Paco de Ferriera and ok in the other, that seems a little early to have him being the main attacking player off the bench and to rely on him to provide creativity.

At least one attacking player should be the top priority we have right now.

But that body is getting bigger every season. Imagine the size of him in two or three years time.

Definitely think we still need an attacking right back as another option to Tanganga and I also definitely see why we want Adama Traore as well.

I thought Tanganga was poor today, going forward and in defence, and his final third finishing piss poor.

As good as we think he is he was no real threat going forward and was often caught out up field when we lost possession.

Certainly hope that another option is brought in over the next two days.
