Now I'm going to write some targets.

Obviously in some cases either
a) The club won't want to sell or will value them too highly
b) Other clubs will be in for the player so we don't get them.

But here are my options for the following positions.

CB : We need a very good player in this position
Targets : Skriniar , Demiral , Milenkovic , Botman , Konate ,
Kounde , Carmo , Tapsoba , Pau Torres , Tarkowski

RB : Should be going for a young player but someone who has already proved themsleves to be a good RB.
Targets : Aarons , Celik , Atal , Mukiele(my pfp) , Dumfries ,
Lamptey

CM/CAM : I don't know what we need here but we need at least 1 midfielder . I'll just give a list of targets.
Targets : Sabitzer , Neuhaus , Bissouma , Barrella ,
Anguissa , Pellegrini , Gravenberch

Winger : We need someone able to play on the RW , So I'd assume it'd be better if there Left-footed ? Not sure.
Targets : Gonzalez , Bailey
, Olise , Diaby , Pedro Neto , Thauvin , Damsgaard, Wamangituka

Striker : Assuming we replace Vinicius which is likely. We'd need to bring in a ST . Again a lot of potential options here but depends on preference such as Age? Homegrown? Ariel ability?
Targets : Ings , Weghoust , Daka , Edouard , Toney , Dzeko ,
Bamford

Some of these players have only 1 year left on their current contract so that could increase the liklihood of a deal.
Also players in red are people that we've not been linked to but I reckon we hold an interest in or are good deals to do.

Thoughts?
I’ll take Bamford all day long. Suits us as a club really. Especially if we can’t or won’t get Ings.

I'm expecting a new manager to come in and sell Sissoko, Winks and Sanchez.

Not continue to play them like the one in charge has tended to do.
Do you think Poch or Mourinho wouldn't have sold them if they could? Do you think Lamela would still be here if the managers had a choice?

Levy is the main reason those players are still here. Even Rose is still here. Nobody is going to offer anything close to what Levy deems fair value and definitely not in this market.

If his man crush Mourinho can't get him to sell for what can be got, no other manager has a chance.

We absolutely must shift, sell and be ruthless this summer and we’d need a manager with pedigree to identify in times of financial struggle good quality which is why I’m still wanting Jose to have a window.

The longer we keep Sanchez, Winks, Sissoko, Aurier and one Doherty the more this continues and the more this continues, the harder it is to keep Sonny and Harry. Our young lad Scarlett could help with our backup striker search which is why I think Jose has been needing him in.

If I’m Jose I’m going full strength in every Europa game tie after this round, that and the out we have in a one off game vs City seems our best hopes for Europe, even with a favourable run in compared to our rivals. 9 points behind West Ham with many teams up there seems to big an ask for even 6th now....that’s a huge shame with how we were late November but I think this all started with the sit back on a goal lead mind set we had at Palace. I get that behaviour with 5 games left, not 25 it’s not right for the stage where you can still express and not deem it as clutch time.

Yep.

We are officially Man Utd from 4 seasons ago.

Sacrificing the league for glory in hope to caress Mourinhos ego.

Expect to see some younger players in the starting eleven when we've decided to fully given up in the league to rest our strongest in desperation for EL glory.

Edit:
Out: Rose, Aurier, Sanchez, Winks, Vinicius (unless a better price to negotiate?)

Loanees unlikely to return: Foyth, CCV, Gazza.

(Assuming Lavinier dropped from ECL squad).

Tanganga no longer U21, Devine is Association player for ECL)
Rodon included in ECL squad non-HG.
Clarke at club 2 years and is now U21 for ECL.

If all the above we can buy 2 non-HG and 1 HG for ECL squad.

Hi, where did you get this list from? The association and more importantly the club trained players and how Bale falls into this category etc?

Depending if Jose is still here next season, there can be no more pissing about from Levy. Actually, that's the case no matter who the manager is.

We need 2 centre halves, a right back, a centre mid, a striker and a right winger is Bale isn't staying.

Lamela, Sissoko, Sanchez, Aurier and maybe Lucas need shipping out.

Manager above any signings this summer, in my view.

What good is a brand new £50,000,000 centre back if we're going to set up to constantly put pressure on our defence?

This is a manager who spent near enough £80,000,000 on signing Bailly and Lindelof for Man Utd and wanted to spend a further £40,000,000 on Eric Dier when he was there ffs.

And who then, once appointed Spurs manager, decided to give Alderweireld and Eric Dier new fucking contracts.

A good coach can coach players to defend. That's logic.

When Ranieri is guiding a Leicester City team to win the league with one of the best defences in the league consisting of Simpson, Morgan, Huth and Fuchs and Antonio Conte then follows that up by winning the league with one of the best defences that consisted of Moses, Luiz, Cahill and Alonso - don't tell me we need flashy new players.

Now someone probably comes in here and tells me the difference in those teams was Ngolo Kante - well then it's clear that a defensive midfield is probably a position we probably need to upgrade then.
I agree with bits of that but we definitely need a new CB
We need someone to lead. The names you are saying such as Luiz and Cahill yeah perhaps they aren't world class but they are better than what we currently have.

Wouldn't complain. Had a bad moment with his feet this season but definitely a very good keeper. Watch Ramsdale this year and it's just night and day between them.

He has good qualities but he is also playing for a fabulous coach.

Overall, I am very concerned by the direction we are taking in relation to our player recruitment. We are looking at older players these days, and I don't understand it. What has happened to our previous emphasis on resale value? What happened to the idea of signing guys who are no more than 23 or 24, and in particular, young English talent like your Godfreys and your Ezes?

Sabitzer is only 26, no?

Is that too old if he's coming in to replace the 31 year old Sissoko? - of course then Skipp (20) comes in to replace Harry Winks (25) and our average age drops considerably across midfield where we have Ndombele (24), Lo Celso (24) and Hojbjerg (25)

Godfrey is 23 - the exact same age as Joe Rodon, who we signed in the summer anyway.

I do agree that we should be looking at future young players to fill our squad up though. Signing a 29 year old Matt Doherty was ridiculous when we already had 23 year old Walker-Peters for example.

Yeah I hope we sign him
But not before a CB.

A CB must be the priority and most of the budget must be put towards a good CB not a quick fix.

If Sabitzer doesn't come we still have Gio/Dele and others who could play in that creative mid role
Whereas if we have no CB we continue with Dier and Sanchez the chuckle brothers.

Centre back is definitely needed, I agree.

But I hope people aren't expecting a centre back to just come in and transform our defence as if van Dijk coming in to help Liverpool was the norm.

Plenty of clubs have spent big on a shiny new centre back only to defend as relatively poorly as they had previously because of the way they are coached.

I mean Ruben Dias did it for City

We need someone who is a leader who can marshall the defense.

Still think we need 2 New CB's because I don't rate any of our options rn

Man City have had one of the best defences in the league for years though. They won the league in 2018-19 with 23 goals conceded, that was a defence that included Otamendi, who many believe was a laughable centre back.

It's like people laughing at John Stones for the last few years calling him a "Good footballer. Shit defender" only for him to now be one of the best centre backs in the league.

It's called coaching. Guardiola happens to be rather good at it.

If you can't coach a team to defend adequately, it doesn't matter who's back there. Hence why we've tried numerous different combinations and neither have them looked relatively solid.

We've finished top four with Alderweireld and Sanchez in our back four in the past.

FFS, our own fans used to blast Kyle Walker for being a calamity defensively. Abused Rose for signing a new deal in 2014 because they didn't rate him.

Fast forward a year and they were coached into being part of the best defence 2 years running...
