Mendes is one of the big names in football agency for a reason.

If you have a good relationship with him he will set you up with good players. But it is kind of like selling yourself to almost exclusively dealing with him.
 
Is Mendes going to set us up with his best players or the players he wants to move so it sets him up for a big payday?

If he has a young, quality guy will he direct them to us or to the club he owns and then move them on to us?

Will he give us a better player over Wolves or wait for them to maximize what they can do at Wolves then move them on to us so he can maximize his personal profit?

I like a lot the players he has but so many questions about how much value we would get out of that relationship especially when he is part owner of another club in our league.

My concern would be he moves guys like Leao and Esteves into Wolves, then takes older guys like Patricio and Semedo over to us at trumped up prices so we get the crappier, older players that he wants to move out of Wolves, while they get the younger, better players that we should want.

Maybe he lets us pay 50 million for Neves as a "favor" while the more talented Neto goes to a team he doesn't have a connection to because that connection means nothing to him at all.

Would rather we had people scouring tape and finding gems without the Doherty, Fernandes dross.. but Mendes puts you in the orbit of some great talent. Some serious players coming out of Portugal and surely he could get us in line for the next Jota, Neto, Ricardo, Dias, Cancelo, Renato Sanches.

He was exceptional for Wolves. It's our lack of brains that people responsible for transfers missed the fact he's gonna be a flop when played as RB.
 
You don't consign your entire summer transfer to an agent. That would be just sheer stupidity.

Mendes should compete with every other agent to deliver his players to us.

If he wants a cornered market for his dross, wolverhampton is there for him.

Well as Mourinho name-checked him in the documentary, was brought in very early in window, and being Mendes client, I think therefore it is safe to say that the person who actually wanted him has not yet been sacked, and either has very questionable judgement or is not using him correctly

Why we jumping into bed with mendes and limiting ourselves to players on his book? This has jose all over it as well as mendes is his agent. Levy. Being a cockbsucker probably fell for Jose’s yarn that mendes will get him the players we need. Total laziness as well I’m not bothering to scout players. This has monumental cock up all over it, football nepotism stink factory and we will play and arm and a leg for seriously over valued players. Can’t believe levy would fall for this crap. Not exactly helping wolves into top 4 with all his purchases. Nice big pay days for mendes. Why are agents needed anyway. Can’t you just go to the club and put in an offer and pay them the money and leave the player to pay his agent?

When Doherty signed for us, everyone on this forum was happy. With benefit of hindsight everything seems obvious.
I had watched Wolves quite a lot, and Doherty was fantastic at RWB. The issue was he's struggled a bit with the transition to RB.
