I’ve been watching more of him recently, and he’s certainly a good player. I had the wrong idea about him; I thought he was ‘busy’ and ‘tenacious’ rather than a playmaker, but when I’ve seen him he’s played very high up the pitch and is very comfortable moving the ball and starting attacks.

If we got him, feels like it would be a Lo Celso swap? Not sure we’d have both?

He'd be a Sissoko replacement.

He's just also capable of playing further forward - likely making him a Dele replacement.

With Sissoko, Gedson and maybe Lamela going he would probably come in for them. Having Sabitzer and Skipp for next season would improve our midfield a lot I think.

He is very versatile so could be seen as a Sissoko and Dele replacement.

As for selling Gio, I disagree.
No reason why we can't have a bit of depth in midfield, with 4 class midfielders of Ndombele Sabitzer Gio Hojbjerg.

Don’t get me wrong. Don’t want Lo Celso going anywhere. I was just thinking of the finances.

Dele makes sense. I’d forgotten about him.

:deledoubt:
Yeah, unless Dele improves we should sell him to Everton/ PSG to fund Sabitzer.

It's all part of the plan Levy has printed out on his front desk

It will depend on the price for MIlitao. He is not my first choice but I would rather getting him cheap than paying 50 million for Skriniar.

Ideally we get someone good and for a decent price but that doesn't seem like a likely option under Levy.

We need a better RB idc if it replaces Aurier or Doherty but we cannot see Doherty starting again.

Still need a CB. Don't be fooled by these good performances , Toby and Sanchez are doing good so far but I doubt its sustainable.

Toby has one year left on his contract, doubt if we want to extend hoven his age so I think we allow him to run his contract down as equally I cannot see another club paying a fee for him this summer.

Problem at RB is Aurier has one year left on his contract and wanted out for 2 years, whilst Doherty is one year into a 4 year contract ........... maybe ask Mendes to move him on if we get our money back.

City may not want to sell Ake to a PL rival so soon after buying him.
If Militao was good, then why is he not even the 3rd choice for Real after Varane and Ramos?

Shouldn't really matter why he isn't 3rd choice for Real.

Bale couldn't even get a look in and they didn't event want Reguilon enough to keep him around.

If he's right for us and our manager wants him, that is all that should matter. I haven't seen much of Militao at Real Madrid but Nabil Bentaleb Nabil Bentaleb loves him and considering he would have seen every game of his when at Porto, I'd trust his judgement.
