Would Leipzig accept a swap with Dele? Otherwise I'm worried we can't afford him after Ali Gold reported that our acquisitions will be mostly funded from player sales this summer.
Not sure but I thinks it’s Sissoko and Lamela we should be looking to offload. Love both of them but Sissoko is too one dimensional and Lamela is way too injury prone. If we can get 20-30m for those two. Another 10m for Sabitzer should be on the cards in my opinion. Of course the question is would he even leave. Going into the last year of his contract and would be great if they didn’t get champions league and we did but looking unlikely

Who is going to pay 20-30M for Sissoko and Lamela?
Lamela's contract expires in 2022, while Sissoko is 31 years old. I think we will get 12M for the pair of them max.

Different kind of player to GLC.

We definitely need a better long range passer in midfield.

Not keen on his age though. Think we should be buying younger to get better value from our limited budget
Yes he’s a different player to Lo Celso but he adds a different dynamic and could be brought into the first team regularly so we could have 5 regular starting 11 (Hoijberg, Ndombele, Lo Celso, Delli and Sabitzer).

Dont agree on the age thing though. All the players I just mentioned, plus Winks, are younger than 26. Lamela and Sissoko are the only two central midfielders over 26. Look at Man City. They have a good mix but a lot of their players are in their prime years. We need to have a mix of youth and experience but the bulk of our players should be in their prime which Sabitzer is

That proposed midfield rotation has only Hojbjerg as a DM which could easily derail our season if he is out long term.

We are not City and can't afford to buy expensive players every summer like they do. But even City don't buy 27yr old midfielders (Gundogan 25yrs, Rodri 23yrs, KDB 24yrs, Silva 22yrs). We might get away with older CBs but midfielders should be max 25 and preferably younger.

Alasdair Gold reported today that we will have to fund our signings using our sales.
Going to have to slightly lower my expectations for this transfer window... #1,027

Yeah I think it is definitely going to have to be another very creative window. That’s one reason why I’d be surprised to see Mourinho go if we have a strong finish to the season. Who do we trust to sort the weak spots in the squad out? Him or a new manager with a weaker voice and it being left to levy and Hitchin?

Agree
Lamela is currently playing like a £20m player and seems happy with his limited opps. He's 29 in 2 weeks time. What club would buy him with his injury record?
It's better value to keep him IMO and if he keeps his form going I wouldn't be against giving him a new contract.
Sissoko I'm not fussed either way stay or go. A £6-8 mill bid would be tempting.

Lamela will 100 per cent get a new contract with us. He is 29 but his body hasn't got that many miles on the clock because of the injuries. He is settled at the club and a very useful player to have around the place.

Our team has lots of quality, so I do think if we fill a few address just a couple of weaknesses, it will be world class. I agree we need a creative window, if you click on this: #1,027 it's both realistic and low net spend.

I was speaking to a Fulham fan yesterday and I noted Andersen and Areola had both been excellent vs Spurs, and he assured me that they had been world class all season.

I checked the statistics, and Areola's save percentage was 3rd in the league, behind Martinez and Emerson but above Pope and Lloris. He was top of PL when it came to preventing the highest percentage of 'expected goals'.

I like the look of both players.

For me we need a
- CB
- RB
- CAM

At a minimum

Probably need 2 CB'S and maybe could improve in other positions + may need to replace Bale/Vinicius if they aren't here next season.

Bale will be here next season; but given Vinicius isn't even trusted in Europa I doubt he will be.
What solution can you come up with which has a low net spend?
Maybe Ings? or maybe get another loan for Vinicius or maybe look for a cheap ST out there who can play second fiddle. Or maybe a young player like Daka who could come in and play with Kane and is more than just backup (this doesn't even have to be a young player come to think of it)

Issue with Ings is at his stage of career, he may not want to come to just play second fiddle. Benfica may not be happy with another loan for Vinicius given there is option to buy. I like Daka 👍

Btw by solution with low net spend, I meant what would you want to do overall in transfer window? I think it's likely our net spend will be around 20M max.

I keep seeing hyperlinks to post 1027. I am going to have nightmares and will never be able to stay in room 1027 ever again.

The new manager by far.
