And a large part is due to him, terrible at reading the play and then slow as molasses once he finally realizes the player is by him.
Yeah, he's not good enough. Mirror is not that reliable though, if TheAthletic, Romano, or Alaisdar Gold report it then I'll take it seriously.

Easy pass, but exactly what Jose is likely looking for big, slow, dumb and terrible the four key characteristics of a Jose player.
Bloody hell

Bloody hell

It seems like lazy reporting, Spurs have gone to Southampton before and need a new CB so let’s just link him to them and call it a day rather than actually try to find out what’s going on.

And I agree it is hell thinking of Jose making transfer decisions for us.

How about offering sissoko back to Newcastle with swap for Wilson or add some cash and get St Max. He’d be ideal for counter attack.
Also Sarr at Watford I’m surprised no one went for him.

It's clear we need a few top signings this summer, starting with a goalkeeper. I love Lloris as much as anyone else but he's on the decline and we need to bring in someone who will be our number 1 for years to come.

A top class centre back should also be high on the list. Would love Konsa from Villa but I should imagine he would cost a silly amount of money.

Neither Sissoko or Winks convince and I'm not sold on Lo Celso either, talented as he is, so a central midfielder that's top quality wouldn't go a-miss. Would love Kelvin Phillips to play alongside Pierre which would give our front four the license to do some real damage, but again, he would cost an absolute fortune and seems Leeds through and through anyway.

But two or three really good signings in the summer and there's no reason at all we can't be in the mix throughout the season.

Issue with Ings is at his stage of career, he may not want to come to just play second fiddle. Benfica may not be happy with another loan for Vinicius given there is option to buy. I like Daka 👍

Btw by solution with low net spend, I meant what would you want to do overall in transfer window? I think it's likely our net spend will be around 20M max.
Yeah apparently there won't be a lot of cash to spend
Gotta be sensible with our dealings and snap up a few bargains.

players with 1yr left on their contracts should be targeted.

The Vestergaard link could be rubbish as could some of the others like Rudiger and Di Maria but this is exactly what concerns some of us if Mourinho stays. Old,past their best players or outright journeymen. The board really have to watch this or we are going to store up massive problems for ourselves in the not too distant future.

I don't think Jose is obsessed with buying players that are passed their best, or journeymen.
Do you really think he wouldn't have preferred a better RB than Doherty last year? Do you think he wouldn't have preferred Ings over Carlos Vinicius?
Doherty and Vinicius was just the best we could afford with such a limited budget.

Well thats the parameters that every Tottenham manager has to work under. He was given free reign and £400m+ at United and that was pretty terrible as well. I actually trust the club more than Mourinho in the market and thats saying something.

Sure, but is there any evidence that we could have got better players at the same price?
I, as well as loads of Spurs fans on this forum, was very happy when we bought Doherty for 13 million. Although that was a flop, Reguilon and Hojbjerg both haven't been. We can't give him blame fro the bad transfers, but no credit for the ones that turned out well.

I thought the players he brought in at United were alright. Zlatan was on a free and won them the league cup. Lukaku did well with him and is doing well at Inter. Pogba they overpaid for but is a talent, anyway Spurs can't afford such luxuries.

I thought Doherty would be a decent signing. Just in general he clearly favours older more experienced players which is not really suited to us as it means continual rebuilds. He doesn't really trust younger players. This isn't even a particular dig but its the way he operates. As for United Lindleof, Bailey, Matic, Alexis Sanchez, Mkytarian, Dalot, Fred.

Players from relegation fodder sides seems to be our best bet this summer for players coming in.

Of those i'd like to see some of:

Joachim Andersen
Yves Bissouma
Ben White
Allan Saint Maximan
Sander Berge
Dwight McNeil

All gettable players if their clubs go down.

Skipp & Sessegnon to come back into the first team squad with the likes of Sissoko, Davies, Winks, Bergwijn, Foyth etc sold on to generate some funds. Gonna be a tough window due to Covid but we must move forward as a club and not let these average squad players tie us down to another season of mid table mediocrity.

Hope we are keeping our eyes on this guy

It depends what people want from a striker. I studied this guy hard earlier in the season in the CL. There is good and bad. Electric pace, so he'll give you that threat in behind/create anxiety in defenders, and he is happy to work his cock off when it comes to pressing. The flipside is that he is actually a relatively poor footballer, so things like ball control and link-play/awareness of his colleagues are not great. I did not look at his stats, but what I observed was a guy that was snatching at (and fluffing) goal-scoring opportunities when they came his way.

So, I think what you're looking at is a player in the mould of an Aubameyang or a Werner (and I am sure the goals will come again for Werner). Not without value. If they play for us, we look for the positives. If they play for Chelsea or Woolwich, we are laughing at them, and saying if they don't score, then they bring very little.

All aspects of a Jose player?
Please explain to me why Jose has won so many trophies when this is the only type of player he looks to sign

Well if you look at the era when Jose won most of his trophies those types of players were much more effective. The game has changed and ball playing is a much more important part of the game than it used to be.

How many "hard men" are left in the game at MF or CB?

You could get away with limited players in the past but now the top teams are all playing with 11 guys who can play with the ball at their feet, making passes and moving the ball quickly.

Well we have a back 4 and a keeper that can't pass and keep the ball moving, closely followed by your mate in Midfield who thinks he is on a Sunday morning stroll.
Is it any wonder we don't win many games.

You don't think that Toby or Reguilon can move the ball? Aurier is hit and miss at it. Dier, Sanchez not great I agree.

Lloris was able to move the ball well enough when Poch was here.

Lloris is probably the worst keeper in the league for distribution.
We have no left sided centre half so Toby plays on the left so 9 times out of 10 only plays a 10 yard pass to Reguillon or a square pass to Sanchez who is a dreadfull passer of the ball.
Aurier also poor.
Lloris was equally poor with his distribution under Poch you can actually count on one hand how many times he has used his right foot in his entire Spurs career.
